Is there a reset?
« on: July 20, 2010, 11:42:30 PM »
Have had the mede8er player working for quite a few months, with no problems. Added some files yesterday on a friends computer, now the the player lights/powers up, but no access via PC or the TV (usb or hdmi cables). Both the blue and red lights appear to be on and do not go out. Any ideas?
I have not upgraded to the latest firmware yet either...
Thanks
Vic

for avoiding other suggestions, try to connect with composite cable (yelow + red and white) and try it in this way.
if is ok switch M8R TV SYS to a fixed output resolutiion like 1080p 50 hz, then switch back to hdmi connection.

it is very possible that , by  mistake, you touch the tv sys button from remote and change the output to hdmi auto or to a unsupported one.

thanks, but no signal,...it just seems to be frozen...nothing reads it. the light doesn't go out as it should (and it is purple, the red and blue lights are on)

When set it on you don't get a blue led but only red of flashing red/blue?

I suggest to download firmware from the download section and upgrade firmware using recovery mode.

Hi Maasbommel
no flashing lights at all, just both the blue & red are on together. how can i upgrade the firmware if the pc can't see the drive? i can hear the hard drive starting up but doesn't connect...
thanks for your time!

Download lastest firmware http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,2345.0.html
USE THE EMERGENCY INSTALLATION PROCEDURE ONLY (USING FLASHDRIVE)
means disconnect all power to mede8er, plug the usb (contains firmware), then recconect power, press power button on mede8er at least 10 sec, then release .. update should begin ..

Might resolve problem .. read carefully on updating firmware procedure ..

Have you try to start mede8er without HDD ??

Then you must have some hardware problem.....

Advise to contact your reseller and let it repair or swapped under warranty.
