The ones that  don't play are Divx.   If you only have a few you can change the FourCC code to  xvid as  both are played by the same H263 codec.

DivX is the problem - Rovi Corporation bought DivX and will not allow Realtek to use it (as the case up to now) unless they pay some unrealistic royalty fee per unit. So Realtek cannot support DivX anymore. You can use some free tools to convert the header to XVID and if this does not work then you need to convert the files to XVID.

Just change fcc Type and biCompression to XVID.

Please find attached

Thanks, will have a look at tool. I mostly use DVDFab to convert, but will try FCC.

You don't have to convert the file.  This takes about 10 seconds to change the fourcc code so it appears to be an XVID.

I suggest to change DivX to XviD on your product pages (Video Formats Suoorted), in this case!

Hi,

Not sure Niwa2's question was answered. I have the v2 beta firmware and a DivX5 file to play. Should I change the header to Xvid or will V2 beta play DivX files? Not a big deal, as changing headers is really quick, but I just wanted to know what is the current status.

Thanks!
