Larger Font
« on: December 23, 2012, 02:13:07 PM »
I bought my in-laws a 300X for x-mas. They have a very old crt tv set (51cm). I choose PAL for TV System setting. The problem is, on that size and type of tv, the fonts are tiny. I tried both the Default A and B fonts, and they are equally bad (from a size point of view). Any way I can get a bigger font? Btw - Running the latest firmware.

Many thanks

The modern Media Players are really designed for Higher Resolution Screens and although they work fine on older type CRT screens you may well experience the problem you described. There is no solution to change to other sized fonts other than the options in the GUI itself.

Thanks for the response. It's a real pity though. People like my in-laws, apart from the fact that they can't see that well any more, can't afford hi-res tv's. I don't see why larger fonts can't be added as an option. I was going to buy my mother a 300X as well, but she also has an old crt tv, so she will face the same problem.

I will ask our engineers if they have a solution for this. Cannot promise anything but its worth a try.
