Novice needs advice
« on: September 29, 2012, 10:47:10 AM »
I have a mede8er 1000 with Wifi, and when I go to
Wireless Setup> I get Wireless Setup > Infrastructure (AP) screen
I then OK on GJC          WPA Key (my wireless name)
enter my WPA Key
it then goes to screen with heading Wireless Setup - I choose DHCP(IP) Auto, it goes to "testing" and then

I get Test Fail.

What next!? Please!

Gert

what security encoding are you isng TKIP or AES. I find TKIP create issues with he realtek  wi-fi. Your best using WPA2-PSK AES.

You need to  get your router manual out and check how to change wi-fi security settings. You get to the router setup page by putting  it's IP into  your browser. It wlll need a password..the default depends on the make of router.
