Playing 24hz material without enabling 24hz ON will cause a lot stutter.
Enabling 24hz ON while playing 50/60hz will cause stutter too.

No.  With 24hz on all you do is enable the switching to 24/23.976 hz if the media is 24/23.976 , and your TV supports 24/23.976.

If you have a 24hz TV you will see a screen change..and possible an on screen message saying 24hz is being used (for both 24 and 23.976). It will then change back to 50 or 60 hz when you stop the movie.

HDMI auto is not doing what you think it does. If means it loads the EDID for the display on boot..and uses the best avialbe resolution..which looks like 1080p 60 hz. in your case.  You will never see "HDMI auto" if you use Info.

You have to enable 24hz playback to get either 24hz or 23.976hz instead of the rate selected by HDMI Setup, auto or otherwise. If not enabled it "should" switch  to 60 hz..but Mede8er's in the past just stay at 50 or 60..whatever rate they are currently using. It might be that AutoFPS is now switching to 60 hz for 24hz material when 24hz is not enabled.

Are you sure you have a 24hz "refresh" TV?  3D tv's should have it..but older 2D Tv's may have support for 24hz "input" and just convert  to 60 hz for display.  Many complaining about poor 23.976 support may find their older TV is the problem..converting to 60 hz badly. That is why there is no stuttering with 24 hz disabled..as the X3 is converting to 60 hz better than the TV.

Yes I'm sure I have a 24hz refresh TV and I have 24hz enabled. I see a also a big difference with 24hz on, the movies plays very smooth with it on.

The strange thing is, when I switch to HDMI Auto during a movie, I don't have the 23.976 (every 40 sec) stuttering anymore. But I have to do this every time I play a movie. Like I said in the other thread: when I'm in the folders/start screen and I go to the settings it says "HDMI Auto" when I play a movie and then press settings it says "1080p 60hz". When I switch then to "HDMI Auto" to movie plays fine.

I think you need to do a EDID test on your system to see what the TV actually supports. Install latest Beta V1.0.3- 21Sept

TEST A
1. Create a folder 'hdmi_test_dora129.3' in Root of a USB stick and plug it into the X3.
2. Power the X3 up and on the Home Page press number key on the Remote Control '1025'  and the X3 will read your systems EDID and save it save it into folder 'hdmi_test_dora129.3' on the USB Stick.
3. Zip the contents of the folder and name it 'TEST A' and mail it to technical@mede8er.com
4. Delete the contents of the folder 'hdmi_test_dora129.3
TEST B
1. Create a folder 'hdmi_test_dora129.3' in Root of a USB stick and plug it into the X3.
2. Power the X3 up Play a video and pres the '0' button on the Remote control and the X3 will read your systems EDID and save it into folder 'hdmi_test_dora129.3' on the USB Stick.
3. Zip the contents of the folder and name it 'TEST B' and mail it to technical@mede8er.com.

Pls include your system setup and make and model of Amp and TV

Is your TV showing any sign of switching from  50/60 to 24 hz (with 24hz enabled in setup)  when you start a 24hz movie? Panasonics do  display a message...as do Samsung according to Massbommel.  I would think forcing an HDMI  change using setup would also produce some kind of message.

Smoothness can be relative. Those will only 24hz "input" are always seeing 60hz..the question is does the TV or the Med convert 24hz to 60hz with less stuttering.

Like my LG TV does ..
The only problem is, if I play 50/60hz (as well as 25/30) material with 24hz on, my TV generates 24hz mode and stutter occurs, I have to put 24hz off then play it smoothly  :)

As I posted elswhere in this thread..there are many Tv's which only have 24 hz "input"..they will  tell you they  are using 24hz "input"..and then convert to 60hz. So  then it's down to deciding if you like the TV or the Med doing the 24hz to 60 hz conversion. It sounds like the Med does a better job in your case.

If you TV only has 24 hz "input"..they don't make it clear 24hz is not avaialbe as a refesh. My old Panasonic was one of those. My current one does support 24hz..and double scans to 48hz..and makes it clrear it has a 48hz refresh in the manual. The top TV's go up to 96hz for 24hz support.

MyTV even has 120Hz option. But never put that on, it looks weird... To smooth for me :) But I will do the test to see if that helps.

The problem:
- 24hz off: Movie play less smooth, but no stutters every 40sec
- 24hz on: movie plays very smooth but stutters every 40 sec, in settings display setting says 1080p 60hz
- 24hz on, during movie I press the settings menu and switch to HDMI Auto: movie plays perfect and much smoother compared to if I have 24hz off, there is no stuttering every 40 sec.

If I turn that off..it jumps all the time..looking for the odd longer jump becomes moot.  It may prove there is a problem..but  it also proves having a modern TV with a 400hz+ interpolater fixes it anyway.

Not sure if this was also present in the past Firmwares, but I simply love the calculator on the default webpage of the Mede8er  ;)

Just enter the IP address of your Mede8er in your browser and enjoy the magic.

But, seriously, is it possible to get perhaps a portal to the Web remote and/or torrent features instead ?
