Internet is ok now.
I have some problems and with 30/8/2012 version and with new with 720/1080p files with dts audio and smb.The picture and sound freezes very often almost every 3-4 seconds.Same files in internal hard disk of med1000x3d play fine.Same files with nfs streaming play fine.
Same files with my other media players dune hd duo and jailbreak apple tv2 with smb streaming play fine.
Same files with smb with wifi pci card of med1000x3d play fine.The problem is only smb with cable connection!

Dont see that problem here on V1.0.3 - 12 Sept. The fact that you can stream the same fine perfectly with PCIE WiFi tells me that something is very wrong.  I suggest you try a Setup ---> System --->  'Restore Default' in Setup Menu.

If above not helps. Try fw recovery install instead of gui fw install.

I made restore default,also as i am a user from 1st generation of med products until now always i upgrade with emergency install and not from the gui!
1st time happens to me these problem and i don;t know what is wrong.
I am not new at media players,not even at mac and network and i have a lot of experience!
I tried all possible ways to have a good streaming with smb and cable from med1000x3d.Change ethernet cable,hdmi,change ports,try direct to router,direct to home plug,direct to modem/router.All possible ways,ports and cables.
I repeat again:With smb and ethernet cable from med1000x3d there are issues with mkv 720/1080p and dts sound.With D.D sound no problem.I tried more than 10 mkv.I copy the files to internal hard disk of med1000x3d and no problem at all!With nfs streaming no problem at all!With other media players (dune hd duo and apple tv2 with jailbreak and smb with cable no problem!
With wifi card of med1000x3d and smb the same files works like a charm.
So i think there is a problem with smb and cable,with heavy files and some routers.

Just did some tests. Except for a small issue, an excellent firmware update.

Both 2D and 3D film-based movies are output at exactly 23.976. Previously, it was 23.98 for 2D and 23.99 for 3D. This becomes the first 1186 streamer to get framerates correctly nailed down.

I enabled BD menu and tried 'Cars 2' 3D BD-ISO, but I got a 'no 3D display detected' message. Turned off BD menu and movie played correctly in 3D. Had to re-enable BD menu after movie had started in order to test the new 'Playlist' alpha functionality. Works great. The only issue I notice is that Disney/Pixar 3D ISO's now play the wrong (Spanish) credits playlist by default, not the correct English as it did prior to this firmware. In other words, you're now forced to use the playlist function to guess the correct (English) playlist.

Can you pls switch the PCIE WiFi 'off' in the Setup menu and do a reboot then re do you wire network settings and check again.

Works perfect.
I tried streaming 3Diso from my NAS via Samba (wired connection) and that worked perfectly. So i guess it will work perfectly as well from the internal HDD.

The only issue i have is that the BT Downloader does not work perfectly. It turns itself to off every time i shut the player off and power it up again. And it also just disconnected (or turned it off by itself) the BT downloader after ~36 min active download.

But besides that - GREAT player! Simply just amazing!

During playing of an H264 movie get 2 messages in top:
1.HDD spin down
2.Unsafe eject storage(usb)

-Strange i dont have an internal HDD. Flash drive was in usb poort.
-HDD spindown option was on  (5min, complies with time interval), seems to work even when no HDD is present
-Doesn't explain the unsafe eject storage message usb icon and connection are lost.
Stopping movie not possible with stop button, x3 freezes and needed a reboot.

Strange. Suggest to go back to 1.0.2 original and check if that is still ok for you.

It's the same problem  and with 1.0.2
But i think i found something.The problem is with files with dts but only if they are in Time Capsule Disk.I copy some files 720/1080p with dts,from Time Capsule to my other network hard drive Mybook World II and with cable and smb play just fine.
So the problem is between mede8er and Time Capsule with files with dts,smb and cable connection.With wifi connection the files with dts sound from Time Capsule play fine!

Time Capsule Disk - is that a disk connected by USB to an Apple router, sort of cheap nas solution?
I am not really an Apple user, so please try to explain a bit further to get an idea.

Time Capsule is an Airport Extreme Base Station (Apple router) with internal hard disk 3TB
