What do you see exactly when you go into the network info menu in setup?
Can you post what the info is you see there?

Thanks.

Hello,

the same problem at my med1000x3d. I cant get an internet connection by wlan. The connection  tested as ok. Problems begins yesterday after updating firmware to 1.03, with previous version 1.0 everything was ok. Also have problem when choosing Croatian language, med rebooting all over again not showing main page and not respondig at all. Only way is to  disconnect the power ,resets configuration to default and again install firmware. With english language work ok.

thx

can you open a cmd box (dos box) on your pc and check what you see if you type the ipconfig/all command?

Specific what the DNS line gives.

That means you have no DNS Proxy using the gateway ip. The  local dns server (127.0.0.1) willsend unresolved ip names to the gateway ip...expecting a DNS proxy linked to it. Without that nothing is resolving imternet ip names.

You can try using    manual to set the dns to one of those listed....but those may not resolve you local ip names...so internet starts to work...and the lan stops working.

These releases are open Beta and some bugs will creep in while we are fixing others. For stable Internet I suggest you install V1.03 - 27Aug 2012

Sorry jer1956 that does not really make any sense. His Pc connects to the Internet and resolves addresses. If you connect via WLAN with dhcp auto everything needed is automatically set, same with LAN. Also with me every other box I connect to the cable works instantly. As one user here wrote with the X3D all was ok in version 1.0 and the problem started with 1.3 from 30.08.

So it does seem to be a bug.

Do you have an X3D running 1.3 from 30.08.2012 and is it connecting to the Internet?

Why should the X3D behave differently than any other device or smartphone. You connect to a router and that is it, not really rocket science.

Thanks Mede8er1,

that is perfectly alright. We are beta testing. I am sure some of us with the problem, are glad about your post, since after a while you feel as if you were too stupid to set up an Internet connection.

Yes would be great if you could try it out and actually have the 30.08. version installed.

I am also having handshake issues with the X3D and my LG 55LW4500, am already in contact with support and they are trying to find out how it can be solved.

I can confirm that mine does not work on LAN, but I don't have Wi-Fi to test that as well. Browsing the network is fine though.

Network info: Manual
IP Address: 192.168.1.13
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (Router IP)
DNS Server IP Address: 192.168.1.1 (Router IP)

I never use the internet services, so I can't say at which point it stopped working.

The need to have a local  DNS PROXY for Meds to work was identifed way back using the 1073.  Those with seperate modems attached to routers have always had problems as a result...even if their pc worked happily via the same network.

The bug appears to be that the local dns proxy is not linking to the routers dns proxy whem using cable.  Fixing that does not solve the  problem of having no proxy at all in the router.

It should still work if you manually change the dns server to use the routers DNS proxy. That still requires your router to have a proxy.

These are two seperate problems.  The first seems to be bug of the firmware.
Since this is the place to post about bugs for the 30.08. release, it is great that the bug was identified here.

The other problem has nothing to do with this specific firmware, so should someone not have a dns proxy set up in their router a bugfix would not help - that is clear. But one could then simply set up a DNS in the router, something like opendnds, then it should work.

Did some further investigation on this Internet stream issue.

My findings are as follow:
My internet streams and Youtube was working on this 30 aug version.
Both on lan as on pcie WIFI.
I did the update to this version using gui update and not use FW recovery mode.

Followed the following steps for investigation:
- first did a save config on usb stick from current situation
- then did a FW recovery update
- after this configured my lan again on mede8er setup using DHCP
- after this, internet streams not working anymore

Then:
- used config restore with the saved config from usb stick
- after it rebooted my internet streams were working again

Conclusion:
There is something wrong with network setup with this release, and maybe also with one of the previous open betas (need to go back to see where this crept in).
People using GUI update might still have a working Internet stream as I saw, when they used GUI update coming from a previous version where internet streams worked.
Gui update preserves the config, FW recovery mode update not.
That explains why doing the config restore from a working situation, somehow fixes the stream issue.
I expect something is wrong with DNS setup in this version, and maybe also in prev beta version.

Will go back to prev open beta version to see where this was introduced.
