Great Tool for renaming movies - movie renamer
« on: August 25, 2012, 12:14:10 pm »
https://code.google.com/p/movie-renamer/

is a great tool to rename moviefiles correctly, so Y2M can process them, it looks the names up in imdb and even creates single movie folders.

Helped me a great deal.

Can anyone tell me where the .bat file is? I'm running the 64 bit version and it complains settings are invalid and the YAMJ skin field is empty. PS not the most technical person but if someone can tell me which files and lines to edit I'm sure I can figure it out

u mean the bat file for putting the movies in folders with the same name?

if so its here

Al you have to do for it is open notepad copy the text below. And save the files as (folder.bat) and copy that file to the directory you want and run it in.

@echo off & setlocal EnableDelayedExpansion
for %%i in (*.*) do (
if exist %%i (
set test=%%~ni
set substring=!test:~0,-3!
set test=!test:~-3!
if !test!==cd1 (
md "!substring!"
move "!substring!*.*" "!substring!"
) ELSE (
md "%%~ni"
move "%%~ni.*" "%%~ni"
)
)
)

Put  this file in the season folder of the series u want and double-click. It will make a folder  for every filename and it will move the files with the same name (all the different extensions) in that folder. This is done in 1 sec. afterwards all u have to do is delete the folder named “folder”.

Suggest you look at the TVrename tool in the community section:

Great little tool by the way. I just ordered the 1000X3D today and expecting it by sat. So to prepare, i've been reading post on how to index my movies. I have ruffly 4TB of movies (98% are .M2TS files) and it looks like it'll be a  long project if i have to use this software and YAMJ. Is there anyway to quickly index and create a DB? Can the 1000x3d index them and show proper title names, info, and year?

2nd question is regarding this tool. Selecting the fanart I like on this tool doesnt seem to port over to YAMJ, is there a setting I need to set on YAMJ. I like the option to select the fanart I want to use. But YAMJ seems to download its own "about background" image. Please let me know.

Thanks in advance

So others learn from my mistake

I downloaded and started to quite enjoy the therenamer - i only have 400 movies but after doing 10 at a time i started to hit some "google unknown search limit" - i'd done maybe 80-100 titles by this stage

I started to see Network error in therenamer and now i have to type in a capchya everytime i or anyone else in the household googles anything.

There's no option in the software to "space" out the attempts so once Google releases my IP from prison, i'll only do one or two at a time in order to not get into this situation again!
