Just Got the MED1000x3d in USA overview

If you need another beta tester I would like to help. I have 2 setups with different equipment. Theater and family room.

Spoke too soon, extended watching on the high bitrate Mkv with Nfs network share is hard locking the x3d .  Every time just a matter of how long. I have to pull power it is freezing hard. copied same file local and has not locked so far so it seems to network port related.

We have identified that the High Bitrate MKV inc DTSMA  over Samba is a SDK bug and this has been reported to Realtek -- as soon as we have a fix it will be released in a updated Beta. We will try to do a fix for the Lip Sync - Pioneer amp ourselves and get a Beta out asap.

The latest firmware does fix the pioneer lyp sync issue. But not the high bit rate Mkv. NSF is still hard locking the unit. As much as I like the potential I will probably have to send it back. It is my only player for my theater, and I cannot afford another box and keep this one. I will have to openelec box for now I guess. I do think this player will be the one to have. But I cannot watch movies on it as is. And I need a box to watch on. Mede8er is the best streamer company I have come across, the response and customer service are tops!!! I wish I could keep on testing and working with the x3d but I need to have something working to watch movies. If mede8er could fix the sdk issues it would probably be done already. But who knows how long Realtek will be. Already waited on a manufacturer, ( Boxee box anyone) that never fixed the hd audio issue. Thanks again for the awesome , and fast customer service.

We have to fix the Samba High Bitrate MKV DTSMA issue and I can assure you that we will be pushing Realtek on a daily basis for this fix. I cannot guarantee the timing but I would like to see it done within a week or so max.

Yep, don't leave dude. Help make this player more solid. I'm impressed by the pace at which Mede8er is addressing issues. Certainly haven't seen this with others, and I've tried many over the years... PCH, WD TV, Boxee, etc.

As an update to the 3D SBS stutter file I posted at AVSForum about (link above), I tried it on my HiMedia HD900B with the same result. So, it appears to be a bad file.

Did find one bug: when I turn on my 1000X3D, go into Favorites, highlight a saved shortcut/share and press Menu to scan, I get an 'Invalid folder' message. If I retry, same thing. But, if I go into the share, back out to Favorites list, and try scanning again, it works fine. I'll post photos and more impressions in the 1000X3D thread at AVSForum in a couple of hours.

since this topic is more active these days , I'm getting the med1000x3d in 2 days, can someone can point me a  tutorial how to connect med1000x3d to NFS using a NAS synology  ds412+?

in micca ep950 realtek 1186  its simple very simple with  autoscan option , but what about the MED1000x3d ?

I've failed so far in doing NFS with my Synology DS1812+. I can stream from Boxee Box via NFS, and even HiMedia's HD900B as it has the auto scan for NFS you mention. But, no matter what I try on the 1000X3D, it says 'failed' to connect. I've searched and read through threads here and on Synology forums on Mede8er/Synology NFS set-up.

Just loaded the latest firmware, smb issue is resolved. the only files I have issue with now are 3dISO with DTS-HD
I get micro drops on audio every minute or so. NFS is Very picky on the format It is CAPS specific as well.
Look at the path in your boxee and make sure it is exactly like that in the x3d. My path is this on unraid
/mnt/user/Movies  Had the have the / in fron anf the M capitol or it failed every time. I do still get a hard lock on NFS though.
If I use the High bitrate files NFS locks my X3D , have to pull power to get it going again. RIght now the audio drops on 3D ISO
are my only issue, I did switch to Dolby Digital and still did get some drops. Maybee 3D ISO needs to be put on the HDD.
I have tested my network speed from my NAS (Unraid) I get a good 65-70 mb per second download. But the High bitrate smb fix is GREAT. Watch on movie last night, no drop, no stutter, perfect!  I am also super impressed with mede8er and the rate that they try to resolve issues. Like I said, best customer support in this land of network streamers.

@kpump,

What settings are you using for MTU size on your network interface of your UNRAID NAS server?
Are you using standard 1500 MTU? or using Jumbo frames setting with bigger MTU size?

If using bigger MTU size, have you tried to change this to default 1500 MTU?

I have tried both, but i have is set to 1500 now on my whole chain. I tried jumbo frames, but for some reason it did not net me any gains. On some test it was actually slower.
