On what you use the device?   Can you tell us more wha tyou find of the picture quality?

I am thinking of using it on a Sony VW 95 Projector, and am a little bit afraid, that Pq although good would be limited on top end.

Okay, NFS will stream without the audio drop. Sweet!! Oh yeah Nfs is case sensitive by the way. Unraid is my nas, nfs working great.  Picture quality is great , usin a jvc x30 at 155" same quality as my ps3. One issue that I have noticed, lip sync has a bug, I turn it off, movie plays great, turn off the x3 then back on lip sync shows off, but movie skips plays bad, go in highlight the lipsyns off hit enter movie works awesome again. Seems lip syc comes back on when powered up, even though the screen shows it is off.

Good to hear that your streaming issue is solved by using NFS.
Regarding the HDMI lipsync issue - can you try to turn HDMI CEC settings in mede8er setup to off.
Maybe you have some issue over there that is causing this.

kpump, can you tell me what title you had trouble with via SMB, the 35GB one you listed MediaInfo details for earlier? You can PM me if you prefer. If I have the same title, I'd like to test it as well via my NAS to check if I get the same results. I did watch 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' (David Fincher version) MKV rip of full BD w/o any issues via SMB.

A generic remark:

Bandwith can differ depending networking setup and components used.

For sure, when I tested I start with the unit plugged direct into the router. Then move to my second switch from there to make sure I am not loosing anything. I have gigabit throughout. But I have noticed that you can get very different results depending on what router and switches you use for sure. I will check the cec settings and let you know. We need to get these over here in the USA more. I am a fan.  Anyone know if the firmware on these will ever do a jukebox direct on the unit, like xbmc or boxer. A built in scraper option, that would be sweet!

Turned off cec, no help. If I power the unit off I have to go into audio and select off in the lip sync menu. Even though it shows off. Once I do that it works again.

Can you give us a detailed description of your setup and how the X3 is connected. As you are the only one to have this problem I suggest two things

1) Try a Restore Config -- Setup - System - Restore Config ( Note you will have to re do your Network Setup / NFS etc)
2) Download a new install and Install Via Emergency method

Just did emergency restore, latest aug 22nd fw. Setup everything works great, lipsyns off, turn off unit, turn back on playback choppy no audio, go into lyp sync shows off, select off again hit enter, go back to movies they play great again.
Going from x3 to sc-35 pioneer then to jvc x30 projector.

I expect it has something to do with some compatibility with your sc-35 pioneer. I have reported your observation to our engineers and lets see what solution they can come up with.

Just tested more, this is only affecting dts tracks. Tru-hd, Dolby digital work after a power off? But dts I have to select off on lyp sync each time.

We had a lot of Passthrough compatibility issues with Pioneer Amps in the past with DTS and they were all resolved. This is the first Mede8er model that has Lip Sync so I am thinking that its some compatibility issue with Pioneer.  I am sure we can deal with this and just give us some time  to resolve it.

You are correct, the onkyo works fine. It does have a issue with the smb share on the high bit rate though, but it does not drop the audio , it makes a pop and skips. But Nfs fixes it on the onkyo as well.

I have the same lipsync issue. Pioneer vsx60 - Epson 5010. Have to go and reset every time I power up.
