Upgrade v2 to v4.0.5 but unit dead

Hi, i have tried to upload the new version onto my player,

but  i had to do the patch(uploader) , it passes first stage, reboots and then gets stuck on Big letter 8.

i have to reboot (take power out) and restart holding power on/off and it starts to install,

it gets just after 1/2 way with progress bars and freezes

Some tips:
- try to updated with analog video cable connected, disconnect hdmi temporary
- try another usb stick
- format the stick with the mentioned format utility in the release notes
- be sure you have no other usb devices connected when installing the update

Follow the instructions in the release notes and first install the 17L patch firmware.

hi, i have tried this all already, im using
RCA Cable
Formatted USB Stick (fat32)

i have put in 4.0.5 , and when it boots. i get yellow page( try older firmware)

i have downloaded 4.0.4-

the file installs - i see the blue bar going across the screen and it hangs after 1/2 way . please assist me

Sounds lijke you are still on bootloader 17L.

Download the rar file of the bootloader patch here:

Unpack that one and first install that using recovery mode.
Then after installation, first check the bootloader version under setup info menu, it should not be 17 or 17L anymore.
After that you should be ok to install version 4.0.5
