Favorites (HDD) aren't updated

Ok, another one.
I put a 2 TB HDD into my 500X2, transferred a couple of movies (around 130), each in it's own folder under a main folder called "Video", made the "Video" folder a favorite, everything great.
Now I got another 15 movie folders prepared on my desktop PC running XP Professional, connected the 500X2 via USB, transferred them into the "Video" folder - and the new movies didn't show up under "Favorites". The old ones are there, but the newly transferred files were missing.
NTFS issue? So I did ntfsfix and chkdsk, no errors.
Problem updating the "Favorites"? I deleted the "Favorites" entry, even switched off the 500X2 before reselecting the "Video" folder as a favorite - new movies still don't show up, but *only* if I try to find them under the "Favorites" entry.
If I select the HDD folder from "Media"  in the main menu, everything is there.
If I go there via "Favorites", only the old 130 movies are shown, not the newer ones.
Any ideas?

Create  a new Dummy folder and copy everything into it. Then delete the old folder to free up the name. Then rename the Dummy folder.

Really "copy"? Or rather move?

I prefer copy as that keeps the current files insitue until you can check the files have copied successfully. I don't trust NTFS hosted by linux enough to use Move.

You didn't really mean "copy all your movies again from whatever source to the mede8er", did you? I didn't try it, but a quick estimate says this would take somewhat around a day or so (USB 2.0, can't help it) - that is of course completely unacceptable.
Moving files to another folder on the 500X2 did the job, took seconds, but is just as unacceptable because: renaming the new folder with the old name gives the same wrong result. Obviously there is some kind of caching algorithm active that for one reason or another just "forgets" updating.
I did a bit of coding myself (in the days "when men were men and wrote their own device drivers"), and I would call that a bug. Probably a rather simple one to fix, if the person that wrote the "Favorites" part of file management still is avaliable. What would be the best place to report that bug?

How did you move those folders?
By using Windows explorer with your Mede8er connected to your pc or by using the File Manager from the Mede8er GUI?

There might be some lock on that folder somehow.
Have you already shut it down, unplug power and then boot again and retry?

Did you delete the favourite as well..and then recreate it after creating a new version of the folder?


Are you using  a favourite link to a jukebox?
