Skin Pack Requests - Post them here
« on: August 04, 2012, 09:01:01 pm »
Do you have a great idea for a new Skin for the X2 or 1000X3D but you don't have the artistic skills or technical skills to make the Skin?

You can raise your requests/ideas to the Skin Developer Group of the Mede8er Community here in this topic.
If your idea is good you might interest one of the Skin Developers to really make it and bring it available for the whole community.

A few basic rules:
1) Describe your idea as good as possible. You may add a picture as example but take care of possible copyright infringements if you use third party images. Sanji Electronics (Pty) Ltd accepts no responsibility. You are responsible to verify that yourself.
2] Pornographic skins are prohibited
3) Any skin that could be defamatory any way will not be allowed.

We are really curious which creative ideas will be raised so let's give it a try!

Go for it!

Hi, i'm new here, and just got my mede8er 400x2, really love it!

Now i saw this topic and i thought maybe it is something to make like the WD TV Live skins. I really like the way how they look, a nice nature background and beautiful clear buttons at the bottom. I almost bought the WD TV because of the menus instead of the Mede8er 400x2 (I know, i'm a little crazy  ;))

I really hope one of you could find the time (and interest) to make something like this.

Kind regards!

@mezelf

As,said,i'm currently working on a nature skin and have made several other skins. They will be  tested by skinning coleagues. Don't know when these are released for the public. Check skin forum regularly.

Hello Mezelf, i'm also new here, looked on the board before for information and stuff, but never registered, untill I saw your message. Coincidentally I was creating the same like what you want. It is something I started a while ago now and it still isn't finished yet, so, please consider it as "work in progress".  ;)
Since I got my Mede8er I was suprised by the fact that you could make your own skins and lay-outs, that sounded great to me, so I tried to make something like the Western Digital TV-look (I like the smooth lay-out also). Because of little time I still haven't got any further than the main-pages lay-outs, and still have to search out how to make everything work properly, but it's getting there...  8)

In the attachements you can see some of the pages already. They are in Dutch (i'm from the Netherlands) but can be made in any language you like.

Hi rik. I believe you can register as a skin developer, which will give you access to the resources necessary to create all the necessary elements of a skin pack. Get hold of one of the moderators (Mede8er1, Maasbommel, jer1965) and ask about becoming a skin developer.

I believe those resolutions are not supported. But I've been known to be wrong once or twice  ;)

I believe those resolutions are not supported.

It would be enough when insert black bars top and bottom in a 16:9 skin.
The main thing is the text does not disappear from the screen.

Skinning does not change the location or shape of icons or the location of text.  Skinning is just about changing the jpgs the system uses. You cannot create a Movie Aspect box via skinning.
