Hey,
As I  am using a Mede8er 500 X, I wonder if the hard drive (which contains all my movies) can be placed in the new and will work with the MED1000X3D. Do i have to purchase another HDD, format it in the XD3 and copy all the movies from the 500X or wil the mounting  of the HDD from the 500X in the XD3 do.

Thanks for your help.
Yves Willems.

It should work without needing to format. I've had no problems when I switched from Med500x to Med500X2...

You can try it, and it might work.
But if you render into filesystem troubles later, you might be asked to backup - reformat - and restore.....

Same answer for those who went from X to X2.
