Sanji don't like making announcements before they can deliver for definite..so  the delay is just how long it takes for actual units to arrive from China. This contrasts with others who would have taken pre-orders months ago.

Only available in SA for now. UK will probably launch very soon. And you are looking at about £240 - £250 (estimate only)

I wasn't complaining about the fact that there is no stock yet. Just that I can't wait for mine to arrive :D

The 1000X3 is not a replacement for the 500X2. Instead it's a premium addition to the current X2 range and it's price will relect the superior casing and design.

Outstanding!  I've been looking for something to replace/upgrade my trusty TViX M6500, and this looks like the best candidate by far.

Hopefully we'll see it here in the US???

Thanks, Y

What price are you talking about? I have not seen the European price published as yet.

The X3 is not an X2 with 3D added. There are a lot of cheap 1186 boxes out there if all you want to do is count functions.  This is a premium product for those who are willing to pay extra for a better looking product.

The X2 range will continue. A 450x3 would be impossible to make without some very esoteric cooling..which  would make that more expesnsive as well.

The conversion from rand to euro gives about 300€. But I've heard about 199€ to europe, which is still high.

Jer1956:

I never said it was a replacement of the X2 series. Also there are a lot of premium products out there, and look to where those companies are now... Just a simple name: dune...

And with the bugs a lack of some very requested functions on the X2 series, if the X3 series keeps equal, then it's a fail..

By 200€, whe can build an HTPC whith XBMC and much more functionality...

You couldn't buy a HTPC case as good as the X3's for 200 euro.  HTPC have always been the piniacle for media playback and functionality..no mediaplyer can get anywhere near. But lots of people don't want a HTPC.   The market is changing. People either want somethig very cheap (or free with their TV) ..or want something more expensive with better design than  a simple box.   It's diffuclt to  make money anymore with products sitting between those two.

[mod edit: Link removed, we can Google ourselves]    ;)

Mod remark: building your own HTPC with PC compenents is another segment, you are free to go that direction if you like  ;D

On order, can't wait for 25 July...

@Maasbommel;

How will the Video Jukebox work with different hard drives? I have a 2tb in my MD500 and 6 loose drives which I use in my HD dock via USB. Will the 1000 create a Video Wall on each drive if I swop them around?
