Hi all, the problem is that some of the newer MKV files  just stop in the middle of play. Those files also cannot be rewinded or FF with more than 2x speed and also GOTO function does not work. Generally, quality of video and audio in those files is very high - for example I had that problem with HD Concert of Shakira in Paris Bercy, or the HD French movie Intouchables.

Firmware version on my M500X is the second to last released, I can check when I get back home.

Thank you for any insights how to solve this...

I suggest to give some more insight and post MediaInfo ouput.
You can find the MediaInfo program here:

Newer MKV tools have a changed "Auto Detect FPS" code which  dosn't create MKV's which mediaplayers like.  You have to force the correct FPS manually to get them to play properly.

MKV "fans" blame the mediaplyers..yet older version of the tools never created problem MKV's for mediaplayers. The bottom line  is chips can't be changed..but the tools can go back to older code.

When we have some media info output we are able to verify if above reason is the root cause.

Will send you technical data, but unfortunatelly not before Monday.

If this is the case, wrongly detected FPS, what is the solution. How do I know the correct one and what should I do with that information

Problem solved!

Following your hint that the problem might be with auto FPS detection, I've openned the file in MKV toolnix and set proper FPS rate - previously the cell was empty - guess that means auto detection.

Anyhow, I returned the file to media player and now it works!!

Thanks!
