Did you already try the UPNPlay android app?

Following settings were giving stability for a user on the Dutch forum which posted them.

[Beaming lokal media]
Server Port: 8080
v DLNA Patch

[Expert section]
Device monitoring interval = 30
Subscription retries = 5
MX Value = 10
Connection timeout = 10
Read Timeout = 60
v Mime Type Matching

Please don't PM me but post on the forum.

Guys,
1. A minute ago I have installed Upnplayer. I surely will try it this week with the recommended settings.
2. I really am impressed with the customer friendly way you handle these issues! Let's hope that the merging of two the two firmwares results in more stability.

I'm able to play music normally on my stereo using PlugPlayer for iPad (MED500X2). There's a setting for PlugPlayer that can prevent the device from losing the connection, that you need to set from the "settings" icon, instead of within PlugPlayer itself. In the Apps section for PlugPlayer, there's an option to keep the Wifi connection when closed (Dutch: "Wifi in gesloten toestand"). With that turned on, I no longer have problems with the music stopping after a few songs. PlugPlayer is also available for Android but it's not free, it costs 4 euros.

Your "playlist" is hosted on the DMC..so you have to keep  that running  and connected to the network. If you shut it down it won't be able to queue the next song. Perhaps some phone/tablet users are on a Power Saving mode which  shuts Wi-Fi down it little traffic is happening.

Mede8er1,
Can you please indicate if your request to the engineers has been implemented in R2.0.1? If not, can you give the status?

Bastiaan57

I have asked our engineers to merge the new and updated DNLA DMR code from X3 into X2. The new DNLA DMR is a lot more stable and we just need to wait and hope that they are successful in doing this. They are busy with X2 update at the moment.

Bastiaan57

Seems they were not able to do it up to now. I will re-check on this and revert.

I confirm completely (unfortunately) the same behavior with different apps: BubbleUPnP, Imediashare, Mediahouse, UPnPlay, etc..
Randomly after 3/5/10 songs and then, sometimes the 500x2 crashes or reboots.
I hope that in the next firmware (> 2.10) this problem will be solved because it would be an extremely attractive feature. Especially for the management of music files where it is not normally present a display.
Let me tell you: the muti-room the functionality is just around the corner with this feature.

Thank you for your amazing support.  :D

Dear Mede8er1,

It's great to see how the firmware improves with each release.
You mentioned that the DLNA DMR functionality will be merged from X3 to X2.
Any idea if this is just a matter of a couple of weeks?
I'm a big fan of this feature but it's currently not very stable  :( .
I'm using it for playing back music from my NAS through my speakers without turning on my TV.
Thanks!

Nature of the Earth is not only very beautiful, but it can unpredictable, and sometimes strange. In this world exist such things that are hard to believe. http://bigessaywriter.com/blog/21-things-that-exist-on-the-earth-you-probably-dont-know It seems that some of these things came out from fiction movies, but believe me, they all are real. So let us begin!
