Another thing you can check before going for a rma/exchange:
Check the deep color mode setting under video settings on your X2 and set it to off.
Have seen some other post with a beamer that had problems to handle deep color mode and gave some simular resolution mode effect....
Tried this as well, no effect. I've run some more tests and it's obvious that every remote signal it receiver triggers the "change resolution" feature on the player. I've requested a RMA at the store I bought it from and hopefully the next one will be better
