I just got my MED400X2 today and noticed something odd. Even after choosing a video resolution in the settings screen the resolution changes after each button pressed on my remote (you can see the resolution changing in the left-top corner and when pressing OK or leaving it for a few seconds it actually changes the resolution).

I though this could be due to an older firmware so I upgraded to the latest (2.0.7) and noticed the issue was still there.

I chose the resolution 1920x1080 50Hz in the settings but it won't stay, every time I press a button on my remote the resolution changes to another one from the list, even when just playing a video or browsing through the menu.

Anything I could do? Really drives me mad!

Thanks!

 Shocked

Never heard or seen this around here.

When you select a HDMI video resolution in setup, do you press the OK button to confirm it?
You should see a screen that asks to confirm to switch to that resolution.

Tell something more how your 400X2 is connected:
- direct by hdmi to a TV - which TV (brand and type)
- or by hdmi cable to an amp (which amp brand and type)

HDMI to TV (Samsung 46D7000) with the same type of HDMI cable as is connected to my BluRay player (works fine).

When I go to the HDMI Video resolution in setup it indeed gives me a list, lets me make a change but the minute I press enter (or ok) the resolution shown in white text in the upper-left corner (which changes at every buttonpress) is chosen as well, overriding the selection made in the list. Sometimes it's the right resolution, mostly it's the wrong one.

Problem is, when I leave the settings menu and start browsing the resolution keeps changing (white text upper-left corner, on OK or waiting after a few seconds that resolution gets chosen and my screen refreshes).

Pain in the *#& if you ask me.

Defective remote? I mean… some key press makes a kind of shortcircuit and issue a  "TV SYS" command, thus changing resolution.

You can test this by connecting the mede8er to your local network, enabling Web Remote in settings menu and using your web browser to act as a remote, directing it to http://IP_OF_MEDE8ER:1234.

Also try to update our device to firmware 2.07 using the emergency procedure and not the standard menu driven update procedure.

OK, this does indeed seem to be the issue. When I connect to it through the web control it works perfectly.
What can/should I do? Contact the shop and maybe get an RMA or something? Or do I have to contact mede8er directly?

Thanks!

Hmm tried out some more stuff...

Everything works fine if I don't use a remote control. When the media player itself gets a remote control signal (either from the mede8er remote control or my TV's remote control) it automatically starts switching between the resolutions. If I aim my TV's control in a way the media player can't get the signal it all works fine.

Anyone got any ideas?

Do you have Anynet+ enable on your Samsung TV, check the TV setup and disable that.

Another thing to verify on your TV setup:

Do you have ARC function enabled. Set it of.

Do you have a Beko TV? We normally get complaints that the Med remote turns those on and off.

Disabled Anynet+.
There is no ARC function on my TV but to make sure I used an older HDMI cable which doesn't support ARC, still no success.

Tried that, still nothing.

It could easily be a defective unit. Swap it out for a new one.

My setup includes almost 5 remotes and I never experienced any interference with the 400X2, probably the problem lies in the IR receiver of your 500X2.

Have it replaced, the 500X2 is otherwise a very good product  Wink

Another thing you can check before going for a rma/exchange:

Check the deep color mode setting under video settings on your X2 and set it to off.
Have seen some other post with a beamer that had problems to handle deep color mode and gave some simular resolution mode effect....
