"We are still noting all the bugs reported on the Forum and will address these in the next update that should be in July I hope. Mede8er1" Since July is almost over I dare repeat the question: When will there be a new firmware or is the development stopped for 500X2 as it was the case with the previous model when the new generation was released ?

There is no X3 range..just the 1000. Mede8er1 said "in July,I hope" in his post. A list of fixes for 2.0.8 is being prepared..

Development on X2 continues and we do have a bug list that will be addressed shortly. This is the same argument over and over again -- Mede8er spend more time on 1185 development than any other manufacturer. X2 Series is still very current within the Mede8er range and it has not been dropped as you suggest. X3 has taken some priority of late as we have limited resources and we needed to get this to the market. Without X3 there is no X2 as 3D is a high demand item at the moment and Mede8er needs to generate sales in order to pay costs and development.

Hopefully in July? And since the new firmware is taking for ever.. i'm a bit disappointed. There are still a lot of issues unsolved according to what I read here on the forum. The streamer industry is a lot like the gaming industry. Bring out a product that surely is known that bugs are there. Fix it afterwards with patches or on streamers with firmwares. The answer that first you have to give priority to the new 3d streamer so there is still money coming in is ridiculous. If you need so bad money to continue support and you first need to bring out another product that without any doubt will also have the neccessary bugs you are not doing well. Then you wil lhave two streamers to focus your attention so split the support. Or will you hire a extra team with the newfound revenue? I don't know who makes this decissions at Mede8er but I think you have your priorities wrong. The client is the person who's paying. If the first streamer is still full with bugs do you really think he will buy the new version from the same manufacturer? Maybe EA can bring out fifa 2013 with bugs and then say that they will patch it after fifa 2014 is out because they need to keep the money flowing... come on.
*EDIT Also I just saw that the firmware page of the x3 already has 5 updates in the last few weeks.. Yes, right. Working on both huh?

Compare mede8er with EA? Why not Apple? That's no real compare..... Those are billion dollar companies with big R & D teams. ......
A bit of patience.... IFA launch of X3 is close and then X2 fw bugfixing will get more prio for sure.

Bring out a product that surely is known that bugs are there. Fix it afterwards with patches or on streamers with firmwares.
So there is something wrong if any kind of problem exists in code? I get weekly updates from Microsoft for win7. So does that make it a shoddy product? Every software product goes out with bugs...there comes a point where the cost of testing for them is prohibative. Monitoring the cost of finding bugs is a standard Project Management tool. There is always a limited budget and time scale for testing. You have to understand what makes Sanji different. They don't just slap therir logo on Realtek firmware and wait for realtek to fix any problems. They add their own functions using the cash flow from their own sales. Mosts bugs are fixed before you get the code..but some will enivtably get out. Beta testing can only be done if you have base of users. The X3 is only just getting a customer base, and hence owners willing to beta. That's why there are lots of updates for the X3...fewer beta testers take longer to find the few remaining bugs. Even Reviewers comments have used as bug reports..which is rather ironic as the next reveiwer comments on the number of "fixes"..when many are actually "improvements" inspired by a previous reviewers comments. The costomer is paying...once..when they buy the box. Without new customers there is no new money for any code..on any box. Users who bought a box 1 or more years ago cannot think they are still funding code development today. They need Sanji to attract new X3 customers as much as Sanji themselves.

I never said ther is something wrong with the product if any problem exists I only mentioned I would like to see it solved within a timeframe. Ms send weekly updates true.. but they do send them, weekly. Not 4 monthly like this will be for the 500x2. (Hopefully)
Every moder8tor here is mega protective when some comments come towards Mede8or however when yu make a product, you sell it then you need to support it. Even if you are company with 3 employees or a multi billion dollar company.
I work as system engineer in a firm that also creates own software to the measurement of the client and websites. We do not have the ability to say to our clients.. sorry but where developing an other website or piece of software so the problem you have found will be fixed as soon as we have done with that project. And we are only with 8 employees.
You have mentioned over and over again on the formum that the x3 is priority now and afterwards the x2 will get foxus again. This is wrong in any way you look at it. I respect your opinion but I'm sure as a client there are not many people who see it your way. That they have to attract new customers is obvious but in your opinion every new customer will now suddenly buy the x3? Why is the x2 not available anymore? No more stock in any shop? So therefore the support on this should continue regardless of any newcoming product. Maybe put one or two engineers aside to work on the x2 and the rest on x3. But not like this. This off course is only my honest opinion.

You have "clients"..a one to one on going relationship with specific cutomers who are probably paying for support. Sanji don't charge for support other than through selling new boxes. Sanji are also in competion with other companies who don't create their own code..who dump boxes and drive down the price of what the public think they should pay. By the sounds of it your "market" is the opposite.
Sanji are also in competion with companies who pride themselves on keeping their customers informed..and then go bust becuase those promises where so much hot air..impossible to keep to due to how the supply chain works in the mediaplayer market. Sanji try not to do that, however frustrating that might be. Right now people need to believe Mediaplyers companies are not going bust. Some might have thought that little sign of an 1186 was an indication of trouble..rather than Sanji's usual apprach of delivering when the chip SDK is mature. Instead they have the confidence to introduce a radical new design (whether you like the design or not) .

Taking a ride on this topic, it's more than time to solve the stupid bug with the subtitles I'm talking about the fact that when we turn the subtitles off for a movie, it also turns it off in the global settings. This forces us to go to setup and turn it on, so i can choose again subtitles on another movie!
