That second is not a local IP..it's the address of the DNS server your ISP hosts.  So you don't have a DNS proxy in your router.

You can try using your PC to host a proxy:-

Just read the bit about Acrylic. Acrylic is normally used to speed up browsing.
You don't need to modify the DNS or WINS files.

We have not had thsi issue with combined modem/routers..but we can't guarentee there is not one out there which dosn't have one. I would use the tp-link forum to clarify if the model  you  fancy does indeed have one.   If confirmed..you should also  speficy you must have the feature when you buy it..so that if you've been given bad information, and it dosn't,  you can take it back.

Thanks.

Another question. Does it matter if I connect the 450X2 with a straight or twisted network cable? I'm using a twisted one that worked fine with my Xbox and LG Blu-Ray.

Here is how to see everything on your network:-
http://www.ehow.com/how_8592941_other-workgroups-network.html

Workgroup is an aid to efficiency by filtering what users on  bussiness networks can see. It is not about security..once found..if open to guest users..any device can be accessed.

Well since my neighbour [CENSORED] at computers I changed his Workgroup name instead of mine.

FYI. Everything seems to work just fine now even though I don't have DNS Proxy. It turned out that my router was broken (it shut down itself every 5-10 minutes and restarted).  I changed to a new one of same model  and the same firmware.

I've also changed the name for the workgroup and that also works perfect. The 450X2 finds and plays everything.
