I had a 500 which i loved,  unfortunately my brother in law managed to crash it with  nearly 2tb of unbacked up media

I was distraught, but i got a full refund and bought a pc and a jailbroken appletv to replace it. It didnt take me long to realise how inferior the apple tv is

I now have a 500x2.   WOW.   It is awesome. Way better than the old one. Streams blue ray rips in 1080p  from my pc on gigabit lan perfectly

And the new gui is tops,

The appletv has been relogated to the drawer, and will only come out when i need netflix...

If only ther was a netflix app for mede8er

I'll be glad to take that "inferior" Apple TV off your hands if you ever want to sell it.

My 500X2 is the least reliable piece of hardware I've ever owned. It crashes every day I use it.

Hi Marge,

I suggest to make some post in the Tech section of the board:
http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/board,51.0.html

And post what kind of problems you have so we can try to find out what the base is of your problems.
It should be stable, so what you describe is not normal and it should be possible to solve it.

regards,
