I have noticed all the information about the movies does not always fit on the about image, is there away around this or do we all just have to live with only getting some of the information.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Please state what YAMJ (or ThumbGen) skin you are using, what data will not fit, and why it will not fit.  Attaching a screenshot might also be helpful.

I use YAMJ.

I never added a screenshot as you cant just upload images on this site, they need to be hosted and linked what i dont do.

So i found something that shows what i am saying in the link below, if you look at shooter, this is how all mine look, the page runs out without getting all the information on about the story of the movie.

@JAY75

So you are saying the length of the plot description is too long to fit in the area available with the skin you are using.  There are probably many different ways to deal with the issue.  Here are just two options...

Option 1.  Use a shorter description.  In the same folder that contains the "Shooter (2007).mkv" file (or whatever extension), create a new file named "Shooter (2007).nfo" and put this in it...

<movie>
   <plot>A marksman living in exile is coaxed back into action after learning of a plot to kill the president. Ultimately double-crossed and framed for the attempt, he goes on the run to track the real killer and find out who exactly set him up, and why.</plot>
</movie>

Run YAMJ again and it should now pick up the shorter description that should fit in the space for that skin.

Option 2:  Use a different skin that has a larger area for the plot description, like this one that I use...

http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,8279.0.html

When the WatchBar is removed (instructions included in the link above), it makes an additional 150 characters available for the plot description, which is great if you want to use longer plot descriptions.

Also note that most skins have an option for whether to scrape the short or long plot description from IMDB.  This could vary by skin, but for the skin you want to use, try looking first at the "skin.properties" file for the parameter "imdb.plot", which is typically set equal to either "short" or "long".

After looking at yours i like it.

I like how you have alot more movies on show in your menu also.

Do you have an exact walk through from where i am at now to change all mine like how you have it set up.

No special steps.  Load and set the new skin as shown in...

http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,8279.0.html

...then delete the directory named "Jukebox".  Now when you run YAMJ from Y2M, the artwork (about.jpg and folder.jpg) should be generated using the new skin.

Download the skin from here...

http://mediaplayersite.com/system/files/1-Admin/skin_v2_11_r2569_june_29_2011_rar_17745.rar

Extract "amw28062011" to the YAMJ skins directory
Run "Delete Y2M Registry.bat"
Delete the "Jukebox" directory
Run Y2M and configure the settings as desired including selecting the "amw28062011" skin

You can just double click the "Delete Y2M Registry.bat" file (or single click if you set your system to do that). Also, "Run Y2M" means double click on the EXE file

- open regedit on your pc and look for the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\YamjToMede8er
and remove that.
I had to do it this way, worked.. Smiley

Now i am going to have a crack at the software, GULP, fingers crossed.

Will i have to re do all my old movies to change the skins. Hence it will just work on new movies added unless i go back over them all.

In the post i have noticed your tv displays 27 covers, mine only shows 16 at a time , its on the orginal skin that comes with mede8tor and set to movie veiw.
Cna you tell me how to do that. i find only half the tv screen is used and i thought my self it should be made to fill the screen with movie titles.

@JAY75

That is not my post on Omertron's site, and I had nothing to do with that YAMJ skin, except I found it, like it, and use it.  The page you are referring to is showing what it looks like in YAMJ.  You can see the same if you open the index.htm file in the Jukebox folder with a web browser.  However, keep in mind the Mede8er does not support those html files...that is why Y2M was created to convert those html files to about.jpg and folder.jpg files.
