Hi, I'm using a med500x with fw V4.0.4 and I would like to know if the box decode the DTS-HD sound? On my amp ( Denon AVR-1911 ), it's only write "dts" and not dts hd. Box and amp are connected in hdmi 1.4.

Thanks in advance

It only happens if the following is true:-
1) You have installed the Hd audio version of the firmware.
2) You are using a Hd Video output
3) Your amp is passing through it's CEA-EDID, and not the TV's, to the Med.

Thanks for your reply.
1) I don't understand your first line : "installed the HD audio version of the fw"Huh Few fw existed?? How can I know what's firmware in V4.0.4 I use?
2) Med is connected with hdmi v1.4 to my Denon AVR-1911 and my devon with the same cable to my TV ( good answer? )
3) I don't know CEA-EDID, I know that's the amp is passthrough but I used my amp switch on with my mede8er

Sorry for my bad english and my bad understanding ^^

EDIT : I've just seen on the forum there are two firmware in 4.0.4, if I upgrade with 4.0.5 HD audio will be include?

1) You would have used a version with....INCHD..in the Zip or RAR name.
3) Edid comes in the opposite direction , from Amp to Source. There is ofton an option in the amp to use the amps audio edid, or the displays audio edid. You need to read the amp manual.

I have almost the same set: Med500x + V4.04 + Denon 1910. Works well DTS HD sound (7ch audio) via HDMI 1.3. I have a feeling that you should check your Denon setings. Of course, my receiver is older model.

On your panel amp, it's written dts hd? or only dts?
In your meddler you only put "passthrough" mode in hdmi audio option?
In the amp, there is no special setting to receive hd audio?

That's not the issue. The Med will only output HD audio if it's told the recieving device can support it. So the issue is what information are you sending to the Med? Also what is the display? If the display dosn't support HDCP, then both audio and video will be restrcited.

My receiving device ( amp denon avr1911 ) can support the hd audio, that's sure.
I tried with mkv files in dts hd audio format, but always dts mode on the amp and not dts hd ^^

Can you please post ALL the settings you have set under mede8er video setup menu and audio menu to get a clue?

Without these details this might get a long discussion I am afraid.
With these details we might get some idea what the root cause is.

Please also check the System Info menu the type of processor you have and post it here.

Read the  Mede8er 400X/500X Beginners Guide
or Mede8er 500X2/400X2/450X2 Beginners Guide

Also check the Technical Support Guidelines first.

Please don't PM me but post on the forum.

It depends on the mkv movie format. If in Dolby Digital then "DOLBY D", if in DTS then only "DTS".
Audio in "Passthrough Multi Ch".
