All Elements of Default Skin
« on: April 20, 2012, 05:22:13 PM »
I'm considering creating my own skin and would like to know how I can extract ALL possible skin elements from the default skin, or if the complete default skin is available for download.  Would also like to know where I can find comments/descriptions on how each skin element is used.  Some are obvious from the name, but for some elements, it can be difficult to understand when they are used.  As I understand it, a custom skin does not have to include every possible element, as any elements missing from a custom skin will just use the default skin element.

I plan to have custom genre icons as part of my skin, and if I understand correctly, if I create and use custom icons from a directory named "genre", all of the icons used must be present in that directory as it is unable to use any default icons if custom icons are being used.  Please confirm.

If any tutorials exist regarding how to create a custom skin, or if you have any tips about creating skins, I would appreciate the feedback.  Thanks.

The information is avaialble if you are a member of the Skinning Group. A competion was created at the launch of the  Group to encourage interest, including the details of how to join.  Unfortuantely we forgot that once the competetion page was removed..so where the Group joining instructions.  We will see if new members can be added, and if so, post the joining instructions seperately.

Request to be allowed access to the skinning group
« Reply #11 on: February 26, 2014, 07:43:56 AM »
I know this is an old one, but seems to be the correct place to ask my question.

The current skin I'm using is the magician skin.  I like many elements of it, but also some of them disturb me as little things I'd like to see different.  I've already been playing around with it, modifying some of the obvious images, but there's still some more items I'd like to see different.  Additionally, the new firmware seems to need some changes for it.

-Is it therefore possible to be added to the skinning group, such that I can (re)create my own skin to my likings?

If this is the wrong place to ask, can you please let me know where, as I couldn't find it on the forum in the skinning area.

Thanks and best regards,
