Is there a way to reset mede8er , i.e. when you update a telephone and you run into trouble you do hardreset. Even computers and tv boxes can need resetting in order to work.

When you install firmware by recovery mode = hardreset.

You already did that.
The strange thing is that you said somewhere that you changed the cable and it solved it.

Then later it came back.
This give me the impression of some faulty hdmi port, can be on your mede8er side or on your TV side.
And be sure to use a fixed hdmi setting and not the auto to prevent you have some hdmi sync issue.

You say using the internal lg player is not a problem. So has this video been recompressed to fit on an SD card?

Also using les than 1080p is reducing the HDMI Bandwidth. What setting do you have for Deep Colour? Forcing 8 bit could reduce the bandwidth at 1080p.

Hello

same file as was on the med8er has been transferred to usb stick and then i played it.
I will try to use the player on my neigbours tv to see if it works there but ive heard some others that had problem with mede8er and lagging. Also first firmware you couldnt even watch a movie in 1080p next update sound was lagging and last firmware it lags occasionally. So it sounds like the mede8er is the problem as i did not update the tv.

Yes..."some" others..and many problems are solved by people changing settings of some kind. Most people don't use the forum as they don't have any issues they want to post about.

You may not have a 3D TV, but you still may have a TV which still needs lip-sync.

Do you see same sound lagging when you put your mede8er in fixed 1080i 50hz mode?

Well i can try 1080i as i never did but when ive had problem and  i change to 720p or pal or 576 there is no problem. only 1080p

Also ive used the youtube player which is bad as you cant pause or rewind at all. There every film lags sometimes. and i dont have any slow internet. It is not like it runs out of buffert but more like the screen goes blank and then comes back.

with the fw it came with nothing could be played in 1080p at all then next it was little better and better last one i can play music without skipping but with movies it isnt 100 yet.

So according to your post i must have a faulty item as "faulty items" do exist in all brands. So then  maybe its  better ask the shop to exchange it for me.

Devices are not completely plug'n'play. They often require compatible services..which are only present in devices built to the same standards.  Mixing devices built to differing standards dosn't mean either is faulty just becuase issues exist.

That could also be true.

My son says it did not lag yet i changed dmr to off and also i have put a hdd inside it.

or  maybe after putting hdmi in and out many times some oxide was removed. Last time it did lag in this movie on some occasions.

So lets see.

But for now i had to pull the power 4 times as it freezes. Happened sometimes also before i installed the harddrive. The underside is really hot.

I wonder if this isnt a monday.

The bottom of a 450x2 gets warm. That is normal as it uses the case as passive cooler to dissipate the heat of the internal disk and cpu.

I read an earlier post where you said "both" video and audio lagged. This is confusing. You must have different meaning to the word lag. We mean when the audio and video are out of sync.   Do you mean "stutter"?

Hello

YES maybe im using the wrong word.

today 5 times the picture goes black and comes back as well as the sound.

So what can it be?  yesterday no problem but today my son said it went black and then 5 times for me when i watching other movies.  This kind of problem did not exist with my previous player , that one frooze often though.

It has only been problem so far with this unit. and the youtubeplayer could be better there is no rew or ffw or are these available when you use a keyboard? Cause when it hangs you dont want to start from the beginning again this is really annoying. and my unit hangs often when watching youtube

Youtube unrealiability is a sign of DNS proxy server issues. The x2 can't auto configure some network settings.  You have to experiment with them to see what  works.

Try reading this:-
http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,8431.0.html

...use it's link to Other Issues

Not having a DNS proxy, or using the wrong one if you have more than one (they have to  be "daisy chained" back the ISP's own DNS server) can produce all kinds of network unreliabilty..such as stuttering.
