Thanks, The link name would explain why it would not show in searches for the file in the forum as it contains '%' and other characters.

Hi, I just went from 2.0.3. to 2.0.6. I have a MED400X2, wired connection to a Win7 PC, Samba share. No Jukebox use, just normal favorites. Boot to favorites on. Slideshow on. Newly formated 4GB USB - FAT32 - RAR, EU FW pack, using emergancy FW upgrade procedure. Noticed two things: 1. When the X2 boots up, the first 5-10 seconds after the Favorites are visible, the remote is sluggage/doesn´t respond so well. You press = nothing happens sometimes, or it happes a few seconds later. However; after approx 5-10 seconds this problem goes away. And then it worked just great. - Is the X2 now loading things in the background, causing it to be a bit sluggage directly up on boot up? Or? - I noticed this in FW 2.0.5 aswell. Not on FW 2.0.3 - on this FW you can start to use the X2 directly when the Favories are visible. - Normal/not normal? What do to?2. When watching picture slideshow and changing the backgrond music, the X2 reboots - either directly upon music change, or later when exiting the slideshow beeing watched while changing the music. However the music change has been effective, and after reboot the new album is choosen by default. This problem only accure one time when changing music, but it still causes me not to want to change music that often - unfortunatly. - Normal/not normal? What do to?Things that work good/great again: -The first thing I tried was the ability to play music and still brows music library = yes it workes again. Thanks brilliant. -Tested some picture slideshows with music on. Works great. Before I had problems exiting a slideshow to parent directory, that would cause the X2 to reboot. This seems to be better/gone now . Gonna test some more to be sure.

Unfortuantely that may be a file that you need to play one of your DVD rips. So you may have to re-rip one of your DVD's if it dosn't play.
We are having isseus with files turning into folders...which is easier to point out than fix at this point.

Please give more details of your system. There have been a some SATA driver changes which may bring problems to some users. The last time we had this was was with 4.0.4 with the X1. They only solution then was to ask affected users to backup and reformat. We need more information to decide if we have reached a similer situation.
I use EU version. First of all i transfer new movies to med8, the box didn´t find sd card, reboot the med8 find it. Second computer doesn´t find Med8 HDD, after many tries i succeed. third when running yamj latest build, it picked FUBAR movies. forth when watching movie it just stops after 20 min or so. Fifth when going thru menu in med8, it hangs up or just crash. Reformat HDD Doesn´t sounds fun, 2 TB of movies !!!!!

We can than identify if it's a Sata 3 or Sata 2.

Had the same issue with 2.0.5, with a couple of files. In one case, while transfering files from the PC to the internal HD of a MED450X2 and in another case, the MED450X2 was idle (no playback, no file transfer), and I saw two files becoming folders in Windows Explorer.

So the NAS had to be enabled to do this. But what about screensaver, and /or spin down?

+ happy with sub fix + happy with fix (5) not stopping music playback ! ? wasn't ( not already fixed in 2.05? (auto NAS switch-off) - unresponsive during FLAC playback (some, not all) - hang / freeze on some m4a (AAC) files which played ok previously. I'll have do to some detailed checking but not enough time ;( -- not too happy with a 'view.xml' in each and every folder I visited. The X2 appears to create on even without changing view! (request: use a DOT file which can easily be hidden) in general: ++ happy with update freq! keep up the good work setup: ME400x2 - EU v2.06, 1x Pendrive, Wired NAS (Ubuntu Samba, PW protected shares)

Are you saying you can see view.xml from the X2 GUI? If you enter a folder and decide your happy with the view..then you inherit the parent view. Otherwise..if you enter a child folder..and change that's view..it's parent would use that view when you came back becuase it had no stored view.xml

This is behaviour that is in the fw already for several versions and linked to the Auto View setting in setup. See page 16 of the user manual http://www.mede8er.com/images/USER_INSTRUCTIONS/Mede8er_med500x2_user_rev5.0.7_24Dec2011.pdfIf the ‘Auto View’ option is enabled the X2 will automatically save the View of the folder when you change the View manually. Are you sure it writes in a folder when you did not touch the view button? Turn Auto View mode to off to prevent it to write the view.xml files in a folder.

oops, sorry for the confusion: no, can`t / don't see these from X2 GUI but they do show browsing from any PC connecting to the NAS share(s). It's not necessarily a problem, annoying at most

I know, but there's not 'generic' firmware topic is there? perhaps I should go into feature req? 2. Pretty sure it writes the files without touching the view button but I'll double check & come back on this
