Same problem to me, random reboots while navigating through the menus. This was started after update to FW V2.0.5 EU version.
After returning on FW V2.0.4 problems are gone and everything works as before.
I use only the outer disk (1.5 TB) formatted on Windows 7.
I had the exact same issues. I have also gone back to 2.0.4

I have already, reboots occur on both version of 2.0.6 As it stands, the only way to have a stable player is to stay on 2.0.4

Im using Chrome as my main browser. I did do a full format of my flash stick before coping the install fw onto stick. used the rar to download.
I updated to 2.0.6. Still had a freeze of 2. No changes of files to folders yet and no reboots yet.
But I love the new fanart option!!! Think that is great to pimp up your Mede8er.

Hi Everyone, I have the same reboot issue. I am running on 206NOP version. I have the 500x2 unit with 1TB HDD supplied purchased thru I.Connection stores.
I did format the drive using the mede8er console from the TV remote. I have copied about 650GB files.
My system reboots every time I change movie, or pause and restart movie. I have had the freese a couple times and had to pull the power cord.
Actually I am quiet disapointed in how unstable it is.
I am thinking I should down grade to 204 F/W. Pls help? tx Chris

Please ensure that the USB stick with the firmware is unplugged if not already. I found having it plugged in with the update still on it caused issues when browsing videos and trying to play them..
Secondly, the devs are looking into this random reboot issue.

We have reports from some users that they are experiencing reboots/freezes with V2.0.6. when Navigating / Returning from Video Media on an internal Hard Drive. We are investigating this and and we suggest that you use V2.0.4 until we have a new firmware solution to resolve this.

Thank you for the advice Mede8er1!
Just BTW, I have also noticed that I cannot "add favorites" via menu option or via hitting the yellow button. Both function cause the device to reboot.
NAS Enabled - more stable I have also found that with the NAS Enabled, I dont have any freezes and my device is much more stable.
Happy for now as is. Cheers Chris

Hi Jer1956, All No actually, the FAV folder had security permissions on it and in windows 7 I could not open the folder to see inside. When trying to save new fav, mede8er could not write inside the foolder either! And this casued the reboot! Dont ask me how the fav folder gone security messed up! My I suggest that everyone who is having reboot check out the HDD for any folders that seem to be locked by file & folder permissions. This has fixed my issue and my 500x2 is now very stable. Or try removing your local disk and brouse through a a clean USB drive and see if you find the same random issue. Cheers Chris

The issue is favlink_Hdd shouldn't be a folder. http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,8253.0.htmlAll such issues are last in a chain of events which seem to start with poor handsaking with the sata, and possible USB controllers, go on to directrories being closed with open file handles as a result, and end with the NTFS Journal flagging those files as probably faulty. When you power down, do you get the Power Dwon logo on a black background, or can you see the GUI dimmly in the background?
