Hi,

I just got my new 500x2 a couple of weeks ago and am still getting to grips with it. So far I'm very impressed and enjoying the progress I'm seeing in the firmware releases.

I saw the video preview for the new TV wall in 2.0.6 and was really excited about it. I seem to be having some issues setting it up though.
I am using an external NAS connected via NFS to the 500x2.
Folder structure is straightforward I think:
/Multimedia/TV/TVSeries/Season/EpisodeFiles (all in one folder)

I have the TV folder added to the Favourites.

I used Thumbgen to generate all information for the TV shows and I have enabled jukebox option on the 500x2.
I then ensured to scan the TV folder in favourties.
When I go into TV I am then able to see the TV wall (synopsis for each TV series) however I am not able to access the seasons or the individual episodes. The only option that appears to work is to press play on the tv series folder itself and then try to jump forward in each episode while it is playing until I get to the episode I want to watch (very tedious).

I then disabled the jukebox and found that now in the TV  folder I can see the folders for each tv series and can therefore enter into the different seasons.
When I go into a season I can then view each episode as shown on the TV Jukebox preview.

Is this normal behaviour or am I missing a step somewhere, because I'd really like to have jukebox enabled for my movies and still be able to use the tv jukebox as well.

Cheers,
Shane

It's called a Wall becuase it hasn't been Jukeboxed yet. So it doesn use a data base..it's just a collection of folders linked to favourites.

So you need two links to FAvorites..one a  Jukeboxed Movie collection, and the other a set of folders for the TV WAll.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Just a bit of clarification though as I'm still a bit confused (sorry for this, still very new).
In the video demo here:
http://www.mede8er.org/artwork/temp/Mede8er_TV_Series_XML_Wall.mp4
from what I can see it starts in favourites and when the user goes to Series he gets a list of 6 tv shows with a synopsis (about 18seconds into the video). For me, this only appears if I have jukebox enabled. ?Am I to understand that jukebox is disabled in this video?
It's at this point (with jukebox enabled) that i'm not able to go any further, the only option I have is to press play.
Whereas if I disable jukebox, I don't get the tv series synopsis, but I can drill down into the folders until I see the individual episodes (at 24 seconds for example).

From what I'm seeing on my setup, it's not possible to have both series synopsis and episode synopsis set up at the same time as it is in the video, or I'm just misunderstanding the setup completely.

Your mistake is that you scanned the TV folder in the X2. As already mentioned it is a Wall and in not db driven. So all you need to do is to delete the Mede8er.db in the TV folder and then it will work as it should.

Jukebox is only triggered if the linked folder has a jukebox database in it.  You  don't turn Jukebox off globally to  just see folders.

A screen full of Icons is possible  via both Jukebox, and just Icon View of a folder of folders.

Jukebox  means  somrthing specifc when you refer to a Med, it's not just a screen full of icons.
