I have an MED500X2 with built in wifi with aerial that screws into the back connector. MED connected to my Netgear wireless LAN yesterday after I went through the WIFI setup routine. Today it shows a message " No AP found" and cannot find or connect to the wireless router.
I have rebooted MED and Netgear router. Still not found.

Go into Setup..move one page backwards and select Network Info. Is there a MAC number for the wi-fi interface?

Which firmware are you using?  2.0.5 comes in two versions.

I'm using 2.0.3 at the moment. I have downloaded 2.0.5 European version today and will install it later. I do not know which version I should use? European or International? I bought my MED500X2 in South Africa and do not know which version is right! Can you possibly tell me?

If it was bought in SA with a pre-installed hard drive then it should use the International firmware.

Did you unplug power of your med already? That might solve this.

Hi all

My 1st post.

Received my 500X2 last week. Wifi built-in with wifi antenna screwed at the back. Updated to firmware 2.0.6 (European version - bought mine online in Belgium).

Wireless is off and can't be switched on. I receive no MAC and IP settings for the wireless interface (I do for the wired connection).
Rebooted , unplugged power, and started serveral times.

* No internal HDD
* SAN Mode OFF
*...

Can someone help me out here?

Cheers.

Did you remove the network cable when you tried to configure the Wifi?
Try:
- unplug power
- unplug network cable
- goto wifi setup
- do you see your network wireless ssid?

I did everything already proposed over the various topics. Boot without network cable, re-flash firmware, reboot again etc etc. When I plug the USB antenna from my 3 year old media player (another brand) it gets a MAC address and picks up all available SSIDs immediately. After entering WPA I can connect without problems. This is not a workaround for me though as I want both my boxes to be connected to the wifi at the same time.

I really start to think this is hardware related and that there's something wrong with the built-in pci-e card and/or screw-on antenna. Antenna cable seems to be attached well to the motherboard at first sight btw.

cheers.
