400x2 freezes

Hello,

I have been downloading torrents on my computer over network to the Transcend Hard drive connected via USB to MED400X2. Sometimes it does work without problems, but every now and then MED400X2 freezes.
When that happens I can't access the hard drive over the network anymore and 400X2 is frozen.
Unplugging&plugging the USB drive doesn't help, I can't shut down the MED400X2 by using the remote as well. Cold reset is needed, so I have to unplug the power to unfreeze it.

My configuration is:


Product & firmware version: Mede8er MED400X2 f/w v2.0.3
External drive: Transcend StoreJet 300GB
MED400X2 is connected to a Buffalo router over LAN cable.
My LAPTOP is connected to the Buffalo router over Wireless.

I tried to download it to an normal 2GB USB flash drive, but it also froze.

Usually I'm downloading only 1 torrent at the time (max. 40 peers).

Does anybody have an idea what might be the problem and how to solve it?

Did you map the netwerk drive to a driveletter on your pc?
That helps most of the time.

Hi, thanks for the advice. I have tried it, pointed the torrent to the new drive Z: but without success.

MED400X2 froze after 22MB were downloaded.

Have you checked the external drive using disk tools with it connected to a PC? How often did you shutdown with the torrent still downloading?  The lock up looks familier..the X2 gets locked up with the BT software doing a file check of a download corrupted by shutdowns.
