After updating to latest 2.04.
I can't scan (nas off) a folder (local hdd or USB )always a warning pops up that mede8er is going to reboot. options Yes or Cancel.

Scanning will result in a reboot..so this is a second chance to avoid it. Some may have turned off the NAS, but perhaps have others streaming off the hardrive via upnp.
Just press OK.
We have to cater for those who treat their X2 as a shared resouce..and those who see it as a single user device.
We will add this to the Manual.

I did press OK and in the process of scanning the device is rebooting.
And no db is created.
And this is every time a try to scan a folder.
Short summary:
Video is located on local hdd and this cant be scanned without rebooting and newly added video's are not added in db (this was working with V2.03)
Music is located on usb drive (Issue as described first post)

What did it say on the info line? No id3 tagged data? No Movies or Music found?
Others can ge this to work..so I suggest you try a re-install , using zip instead of rar as the source.

Installed and no problem with the basic functionality. I'm using 3TB HDD WD30EZRX and with this firmware HDD detection seems to be faster. Is it possible or it's only my feeling?

There is new sata code in there added to fix a problem..so it might improve overall perfomance as well. Theres is also new HD scanning code as well...so scanning should be faster..ignoring all the time the new lock outs take.

Thanks for your explanation and thanks for the new firmware. The performence improvement is visible in my MED500X2 with 3TB WD HDD.

There is a bug in the video scan..in that the reboot question needed for music was added..but the scan dosn't know if the scan is only for video until after it starts. A reboot is not needed for Video..but the database will be updated. This has been confirmed by two others now.

Screen Saver not working in music player.
Screen Saver is set to "Default" with "10 Minute" delay. Also, all my album art is embedded, no images exist in the folders. It did work when I paused a movie for longer than 10 minutes and also when listening to an Internet radio stream.

The Scrensaver timer is always reset when an "event" occurs..such as a track change. You must use 2 mins to have a real chance of it kicking in.

Oj!
I just upgrade my med500x2 to ver. 2.04. and press scan on music folder in favorites. I have the mesage "This operation will result in a system reboot. Do you want to". I press OK and now is scanning in progress 15 min and still scanning.
Is this normal?
