Google and Facebook would be at the top of my list of services which would try to cicumvent privacy seetings and force the use of cookies.  Youtube is still optional, as long as you go nowhere near the dreaded little tick box.

Same s..t with 2.0.5

Since Jer advised me to post here ...

I have my MED500X2 for about a month and i noticed the player freezes quiet often (about 15 times so far) and i needed to do hard reset (plug out-in power suplly).
Mostly this happend at playing mp3 music from installed hard disc ( interesting is that music keeps playing, while the med8er does not respond to remote or pressing ON-OFF button )  ,  watching You Tube. Not to mention internet surfing. I never succeed to log into Facebook .
Also i noticed the player reacts much slower then the old one at moving through menues.

While on the other side at  playing movies ( even 3D ) didn't found any problems . Nor at internet radio playing.

Very disapointed regarding my old 500.

Any advices what to do?

My setup :
Med500X2 with keyboard - 2.0.3 firmware
TV Panasonic – VT50 – connected via hdmi to player
Receiver Pioneer VSX – audio conected to TV via optical input since reciver does not have hdmi input.
Wired and stabile network through Linksys 54GL

Regarding:

Did you already check and reduce internal cover art size of your mp3 files?
I am almost sure it must be related.

Sorry. I just "copy paste" my first post. I did as you suggest me. So far i didn't find any problems with mp3 althought i didn't listen music much.

My problem was more about player freezing in Internet sectiom , but nothing changes from previous version of firmware.

Also noticed yestrday that when i want to enter into "Google result web site" , nothing happens.

There is still the Jump to bug. I can type 33 or 34 into minutes section, but can't enter 59 (minute) of movie for instance .

Also is there a way how can i find out  for wich area my player was made ?

During Last Week end, my Med500X2 freezed at least 10 times without any reason.
Let me explain :
Trying to enter in the bibliotheque section, the Med500X2 hanged and  did not respond to the remote control.

My Med500X2 is equipped with a 2TB WD and has the 2.0.3 firmware.

I do not know how to solve the problem and I am posting for your help. Thank you in advance.

I bought the MED500X2 last week and upgrade it to firmware 2.0.5. I equiped it with an 500Gb Samsung spinpoint that I didn't used and connected the wifi antenne in the back of the player (screwed) to use wifi. I use a HDMI cable to connect to my Samsung LED and an optical cable for sound to my receiver.

My experience so far:
The mede8er plays the movies very well (so far only mkv and mpg) that I copied to the local hdd by connecting the box to my pc with usb and the quality is good, BUT a lot of times the screen freezes and sometimes I have to unplug the powercable. This is driving me crazy!! Also menu browsing is feeling slowly or bad responding.
I installed a custom theme and also enabled the jukebox view and added the movie folder to the favorites, this looks nice!
Browsing to the network files that are on my Synology NAS is also very slow and a lot of hung and freezes. I didn't check the wired connected yet, but the Mede8er is the only device that is having issues so I don't think my network is the problem.

Someone any idea or advice? Can the firmware be the problem?
I'm a little bit disappointed at the moment and I expected more.
