I can only speak  for myself..but if you have been changing things to match what's been posted..you will install the software and go WOW.

If you  havn't..it's going take a lot of work to catch up.

 Hi JER1956,

how're you.

In your first post you stated:

Quote
"All supported audio codecs using Tags can be used.
If you have a mix of MP3 and other formats...Tagscanner is used to scan everything."

On FLAC files, you have an example:
http://www.mede8er.org/artwork/temp/Mede8er_music_jukebox_flac_tags.mp4

So tagging FLACS should work.

Actually, reading this post decide me to buy a 1000X3D ....  ;D

... but ...

First: when adding tagged MP3 files to the Med (generated by Tagscanner), the music jukebox works fine.

Second: when adding tagged FLAC files to the Med, the music jukebox doesn't work at all ...
It can only play the files and show the coverart (folder.jpg) but I lose all the jukebox functionality (playlist, searching).

I undestand the TAG EDITOr, MUSIC RENMER, LIST MAKER but whatever I try within Tagscanner, it keeps adding VORBIS tags to mij FLAC files. Even when I save to ID3, APE or AUTO.

And the 1000X3D can only read ID3 tags. :-[
So, when scanning the (just added) FAVOURITES map (I named it MUSIC, which keeps the FLAc files),
the Med1000X3D returns: "No ID3 Tag information found".

I've trying for over a week now .... the forum and Tagscanner user manual isn't helping much either, it's not specific enough.

QUESTION: how can I generate tags for FLAC-files within TAGSCANNER so that the Med1000X3D can read them ?

Thanking you in advance,

Player: 1000X3D
FW: v1.05
HDD: WD Blue 750 GB (WD7500BPVT), http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=800

Please post your tagscanner xml.  You are scanning the folder in which is the XML is found?

Hi Jer,

... thanks for your fast response.  ;D

This is the map-structure that I want to make on the Med:

E:\Music\CSNY
E:\Music\Beatles
E:\Music\Beatles
E:\Music\Eagles
E:\Music\Tracklist.XML

In wich E: is the internal HDD on the Med (according to my PC when connected with the blue cable).
Music is the Root-folder.
CSNY is Artist-folder.
The Album-folder contains the tracks (01-carry on, 02-teach your children, 03-almost cut my hair, etc...)
The tracks are tagged with Tagscanner (manual via TAG EDITOR) and renamed to: %track%-%title%.

So the tracklist.xml is in the music folder, as it should be according to the manual.

Within the Med:
First I add the Music-folder to my Favourites, this works fine.
Then I go to the Favourites, and scan the (just made) Music-folder; followed by the message "No ID3 Tag information found" .  :-[

So the Med cannot build a database (music.db) and I can only play the individual songs.

EXAMPLE: this is the tracklist.xml of the above CSNY album:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <filelist>
  <root />
  <totalfiles>10</totalfiles>
  <totalsize>201,72 MB</totalsize>

  <album>Csny - Deja Vu</album>
  <genre>Pop</genre>

  <title>Everybody I Love You</title>
  <filename>10-Everybody I Love You.flac</filename>

  </filelist>

Something wrong .... I don't see it ... ???

1) start with a standard script as found here:-

http://www.mede8er.com/mede8er_music_jukebox_user_guide_x2_x3.html

2)you structure would work on the internal drive,,but on remote stores you must use share/music/music folders.

So  you need an extra parent folder..and that is what is shared.  You then link to  the Music child folder.
