Hi All

Upgraded from a 500x to 500x2 with bundled PCI network card & keyboard last week and installed the v2.03 firmware immediately, Is my WPA network supposed to appear together with ad hoc and peer to peer network options or are those the only options? Also can't get NAS to work (PC doesn't see the mede8er). My network is running fine with 3 pc's, Squeezebox and PS3 all connected and working fine. Just not sure what I must be looking for. Previously my old 500x worked fine with a wi-fi dongle on the same network.

Thanks

Are you running on hidden SSID on your router? Do you see your router it in the SSID list of your mede8er setup screen?

It's not hidden and it also doesn't appear on the SSID list.

?? Sounds like hidden ;-)

Have you tried to toggle your router to WPA2 or test temporaty without a security setting to off?

Can you post what wifi router or access point you are using?

I'll try to change the router settings just now, I am running a Netgear DG834G router with WPA & TKIP encryption. I'll come back to you when I've tried. Thanks for helping.

That may have worked before...but the X2 has to be considered new player. We have always recommended wpa2 and AES for those with problems, even X1 users with problems.

Guys, I tried everything from an open network to everything else. Mede8er refuses to see the network, in all this time all the other devices and computers successfully connected. The router is broadcasting it's name. Can there be something wrong with the PCI card?

Thank you for all the tips & help.

Yes jer1956, that's correct. Just doesn't appear anywhere.

Do any networks appear? I usually get 15 or so  from my location.

Ok I just removed the aerial...and the only thing detected was then my router...which is 6 inches away ( I only use wi-fi to help solve problems!).
So can you try with the X2 very close to the router? If you detect it then...it looks like your aerial cable has come loose.

I do not get any networks on it, I also normally get a couple on my PC so it sounds a bit dodgy to me. Do you agree that it sounds like a faulty PCI card?
