...So, I moved the XML and JPEG's to the top folder of the Series name (eg. \Series\Entourage\entourage.xml ), but the XML points to an episode AVI which doesn't exist in the top folder.
What you advised, I am doing already (separate series top folder, and linked the separate series folder to favourites). However, when clicking on the particular series, it obviously doesn't work as the XML file points to an AVI that doesn't exist in the top folder of the series name, but rather in the Season folder of that Series.
Sounds like you're highlighting the series thumbnail, and the plot info displayed is just being drawn from the XML which was scraped for one of the episodes. This is actaully a good sign - here's what I suggest:
Set up your folders as Maasbommel suggested in this thread. The Entourage folder should contain your season folders, optional folder.jpg and
one Entourage.xml file. You can make this from a copy of any episode-scraped xml for convenience. Then edit this file so that the series summary is entered in between the <plot> tags. You might want to delete unused tags, such as filename, etc
When browsing in Movie view, highlighting the Entourage folder should now show the series summary in the lower third of the screen.
Just to reiterate: this works with normal browsing only; once you try jukebox view on this folder, that XML may show as a confusing rogue 'extra' episode...
