Hi,
Sorry for this question but my Mede8er 500X has kept the V 2.02 version since I've bought it  and I plan to upgrade it now .

I wonder that the subject had been discussed on the forum but my english language is not very good to read all this litterature ...

Is there anybody to indicate me the good thread to answer my question ?

Even with my old firmware, I'm very glad with my Mede8er 500X and some of my friends et parents in France bought it after I praised it.

Happy new year from France

Maurice

There are problems  with using the later firmware.  So you need the check the changelog...especially for 4.0.4,,,on which 4.0.5 is based. Some users went back to V3 becuase they didn't like the issues....manadatory broadcast SSID, poor subtitles, the need to teak the network (for some).

The subtitles have been fixed with 4.0.5, but not the others.

So I would upgrade to  the last V3 to start with. Then decide if you can cope with V4.
