Please reply to this thread with the Make / Model of Universal Remote you have tried..and what problems you have had..if any. According to this thread:- http://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,7384.0.htmlThe Harmony One...and the Harmony 900 work. Others have reported issues...but we don't have make / model details.

can confirm that harmony 900 works wonderfully with the MED500x2.
Only thing mede8er is missing from making it perfect for universal remotes are a discrete "on" command.

Shortly said, nearly all Harmony remotes use the same technique and codes so they should work. But as noone has posted this (except Jer1956), the Harmony One works fine. Only a pity that it has no colored keys (although this is no big problem, as I, for example, added them in the LCD field).

As of yesterday I own a Harmony 600 and have programmed it for the med400X2 via the Logitech Website. It still does not control the R/L and U/D properly. It sometimes jumps by 2 positions just as my old URC did. All this happens not all the time but seems to depend on the way the RC is held towards the Med 400X2. I tried several values for the delay 0,100,200,..500ms. As I am only using a NAS via Ethernet for storage, it looks like the problem depends on the LAN access. On the upmost level of Favorits it works, but when I select Favorit ( English Movies) with about 1000 films it becomes unreliable.

As a Harmony owner myself, please note that the delay setting has nothing to do with the problem you describe. If I remember it correctly the Harmony software is setup to repeat every command 3 times by default. Try lowering this number until it works correctly. 1 repeat did the trick for me.

Logitech Harmony 785, MED 450x2 FW 2.0.2 problem with U/D L/R keys responding twice (intermittendly) especially in jukebox mode. (Please note: not an issue in normal selections e.g. media library)
Have set the repeat value under "Media Center PC responds to some commands either too many times or only occasionally." to 0 (zero). Problem less severe, but still there. Using Logitech software version 7.2.1.
@ Lupissimo: is your problem also resolved in jukebox mode completely?

@Lupissimo: it seems that we don't need to do such a thing since the new 2.x Firmware

I have to rephrase my statement: the problem is much less severe but it still exists sporadically, so it is not solved, not even with the latest firmware. But as stated before ONLY with the U/L and L/R buttons. So we should hope for a firmware update. There seems to be no difference among all the VIEWS.

This tip was created to find out what RC's had problems...so that users could avoid those remotes. Devices don't have fine tuning for remotes...that code resides in the programmable remotes...which are tuned for the devices.
Perhaps those happy with their remotes have this cursor button "issue"..but don't see it as a "problem"?
