If you wish to create a music playlist using the Mede8er interface, use the following procedure:

Select multiple music files; save the playlist.

Detailed steps:
o Navigate to your desired music files
  o Press EDIT on the remote;
o Navigate DOWN and ENTER on 'Multiple Select'
The Multi-File Editing screen will come up
o Navigate UP and DOWN and move the songs you wish to add by pressing the PLAY button on the remote
The songs to be added to the playlist will move across to the list on the right of the screen
Note that on pressing the PLAY button, the selected song title will move across to the list on the right hand side of the screen and the selector will automatically move down to the next title
o Once you have all the songs you want in the playlist, press EDIT
o Navigate DOWN and ENTER on 'Save Playlist'
The Save Playlist screen will appear
o Rename your playlist as desired

The music playlist will be created in the folder you created it in - you can play this playlist by selecting it and pressing PLAY.

Note: Do not move the playlist or it will no longer function.

You can also use the program Playlist Creator 3.6.2 (google for it)

Be sure to set path to relative in the setup and use the .pls format to generate a playlist.

This works fine for MUSIC. In the Med 500x one could also select several video files to create a playlist of e.g. Series episodes. Under media library Playlist function all these list would be available for selection. How do I do this with my new 500X2...... ?

For those who have problems with usual winamp playlist (.m3u and .pls) while using specific region characters (יאט...)
It's very simple:
1) Open playlist with NOTEPAD (windows)
2) "Save as" your playlist with Type:All and Coding: UTF-8

Now, your X2 can play it.

PS: at least, it works for me (MED400X2 with 2.0.1 firmware)
