I posted a topic about the remote control to jump two items when only pressed once.
This behavior is still present and very annoying.
I've seen that the previous topic was moved to networking issues, but come on, this is not a networking issue.
Despite I think it's something else than networking, the network is doing fine here and is always present.

Can we dig into this so to resolve this?
Faulty Remote? Bug in the firmware after all?

Thanks...

Bugs usually affect everyone...like subtitle control not working.

You have also upgraded the firmware....so has it ever worked?

Just checked this.

It is in the Technical Issues section, so in the right spot - not in the network section.

Right, if this was a general FW issue, it should be posted much more.
This more might be something else, HW defect on the remote or receiver side would be more a thing that could be the root cause of this.

The last person to have a "jumpy" system had turned every single server on in the box...and was torrenting and sharing files via the Nas at the same time.  So  we need to know what users are actually doing at the time thsi  happens.

Agreed...
So what could I do to see where the problem resides. Send in components?
Change remotes (I only have one).

Any ideas?

My med 500x2 does it too (jump).
Not eveytime, not often but it does.
Sometimes, it's the opposite : it does nothing, it refuses to pass the next file. Pressing one more time makes it jump.

I do nothing else but navigate through my files.
They are located in a NAS. I navigate from a favorite link.

But it is not annoying because it only does it twice a week.

That could just be some network hickup....

I have experienced similar jumpy behaviour (especially when using up, down, left and right bottoms) during navigation in the jukebox section using a Harmony remote from Logitech. I have tried different repeat settings, even the lowest (0) yet still get jumpy behaviour. When I use the normal (box) remote the jumps are less frequent. When using either remote in normal browsing (i.e. within network files) the jumps are also less frequent.

It would  be wrong to denigh some users are having this. But I notice that becuase those affected have the reasonable expectation it should work...in all circumstances...they then aren't giving us enough information of the particuler circumstances becuase they kind of feel  that should be irrelevent.

So are users browsing a jukebox stored on a NAS? Could the wait states involved in networking be resulting in the remote processing being ignored?

Grin Good thing that I am not the only one having trouble.  Grin
That rules out a Harmony RC for the time being

Hello,
I've the same problem, my remote control jump two or three positions very often  when I press the arrows keys.
this problem happens in every screen:
file navigation, setup menu, and every where I have to move the cursor up,down, right or left.
it is very very annoying !
Mede8er 400x2 V2.0.7
but it was the same problem with older firmware, since when I bought it
there is only an external USB2 HDD, no network.
every settings about network are disabled.

I'm not the only one having this problem....how can I solve it ?

thanks

What remote control are you using?
The standard mede8er remote or some universal remote control?

Hi Ronaldk and others using a Harmony remote,

If you have "double" commands occurring on the Mede8er, try lowering the output strength of the Harmony for the Mede8er device. I think this is only possible when using the old Harmony software 7.7.0, and not the "myharmony" website.

To do this with the software (I have the dutch version of the software, so I will translate to english, but don't know the actual names of the buttons):

- Go to devices
- Next to the Mede8er device, select "troubleshooting" (or "solve a problem")
- Select the "Mede8er responds too much or not always for some commands" (this is the one before last option).
- The default is "3" I think, but I you have to lower it to "2" or "1". I suggest to try both and see which one is the best.

After this the double commands should be gone.
