hello
i am french and i'd like to know if it's possible to make a complete translation of the GUI, because there are a lot of words that are in english.
With the firm 1.03, in preview mode, there were infos about the videos, size, length....... this has disappeared in the 2.0??

I bought my MED500x2 few weeks ago. I updated the firmware to 2.0.0 and 2.0.1. In both versions I noticed a small problem in adding custom genre art to favourites.

I'd like to keep my genre arts, skins etc. on SD card and save the USB ports to play movies from a stick or external drive. I want to keep these data on SD card rather the internal drive because it's much easier for me to update data on the card only instead connecting MED500x2 to a PC.

I put the art files to the "genre" folder in SD card root - MED500x2 loads the files. However when I insert a usb stick it seems like MED500x2 search for the "genre" folder through usb ports only and don't load the art from SD card. When I remove the stick the files are back.

I didn't instaled the internal drive yet.

Does anyone noticed the same? Am I doing something wrong or it is a bug?

Can you still browse the SD card using Medialibrary with USB devices attached?

Sure. Everything works except loading the art files from "genre" folder.

You don't have a resource folder on the stick by any chance?

You mean folder named "resource" or "genre"? No, for sure there is no such folder on the stick.

Hi cxax

I  need to check this. Anyway I have a more elegant  way for you  to do your Favourite Genre Covers.

Download this pack of our default Genre covers
http://www.mede8er.org/artwork/temp/Genre_Images_23Nov2011.rar

Personalize them to your taste but save them as PNG and do not change the pixel xy size or file names.

Navigate to the folder that you saved these images to and press the 'Menu' Button and select the 'Set to Skin' option and the images will be stored in the X2 flash memory.

Great. I'm going to follow these steps. Indeed this seems more elegant and the SD card slot won't be occupied permanently. However it limits me to have only predefined genres while I'd like to create something more complex e.g. the GlynRS2 genres.

Meanwhile I've tried my configuration with another SD card and USB sticks - still the same. It seems like usb ports have priority and even if there is no "genre" folder the MED500x2 stops searching for the folder on SD card.

Try using resource/genre as the folder.

Try using resource/genre as the folder.

Believe me. Before I posted here I've tried many options including naming the folder "favourites" and "videowall". Still the same.
When the folder is named "genre" the art files are loaded if there is no usb stick, thus I assume that the issue is not the folder name.

Things get changed...and sometime earlier names still get supported at the same time.  So during development the correct folder has been genre, and resource/genre.

It doesn't matter if the folder "genre" is in root catalogue or "root/resource/genre" the problem still exist.

If the other devices is a semi-perment USB drive, why not put another copy of Genre on that?  If it's a stick then surely that dosn't stay permently?

That leaves the sd card for when nothing is attached.

This sounds like a bug..but we are trying to  think how you can progress for now.
