If the other devices is a semi-perment USB drive, why not put another copy of Genre on that?  If it's a stick then surely that dosn't stay permently?

I explaied it above. I'd like to keep the files on SD card or load them into the flash memory. Even if the device is semi-permanet it will be disconected sometimes and resulting in loss of the files while the SD card will be exclusively used to store the art files. Moreover this option allows me fast tweaking and changing what is important for me.

Can you just confirm that only two devices are connected...a usb storage device...and the SD card. We are looking into this, and it's nice to have as much information as possible.

I've tried the following configurations:
1. SD card only (art files uploaded)
2. SD card + 1 usb stick (no art files)
3. SD card +2 usb sticks (no art files)
4-6. the three upper with internal drive - the same comments (the internal drive is empty)

When I put the "genre" folder with art files to one or two usb sticks the files are uploaded. If the art files are on two sticks all of them are uploaded.

Is it possible to have the Mede8er remember which view mode i have selected?
like if i open a movie folder the movie view would be automatically selected and if i open
a music folder the music view would be shown.

I can change the view but then it is for all the other folders the same.

Is it not the function of the view.xml to do that?....if so...then it is not working here...

Have you turned Auto View on in setup?  The last setup page is getting big and scrolls to see all the options. You have to change the view to the one you want...folder by folder, and it remembers.  Not everyone wants a prescriptive system where views are decided for you. Rember that two of the views cannot be acociated with any particluer media...List and Preview. So users are in control, and can select any Icon view they like..and List or Preview View if they want.

I have tried every setting, jukebox on - auto view on, jukebox off - auto view on, etc.

What i want in the favourites screen is the following:

A folder with movies for my kid - Movie View
A folder with music - Music view
A folder with pictures -  Picture view
A folder with normal films - Preview view

What i am getting now, with jukebox on - auto view off:

In the folder Movies i select Movie view (this is the first folder upper left)
Underneath is my folder Music in wich i select Music view
When i go out of the folder Music to return to the favourites screen and then
back into the folder Music the Music view is still present.

When i go out of the folder Music to return to the favourites screen and then
into the folder Movies the Movie view is selected (sofar that is good)

However!!!!! when i go out of the folder Movies to return to the favourites screen
and then into the folder Music the Movie view is selected instead of the Music view...

Am i loosing it...or what?!....



Other settings will give different outcomes, like Preview view....

What do you mean..underneath? Are these nested folders?

If you have not XML'ed  your movies, Jukebox should be Off..

To remeber views..Autoview should be on!!   Normal view control will operate if you turn autoview Off,,that is you can chnage the view setting...and it dosn't change as your move between folders. 

The best bet is to prove to yourself autoview works by using Medialibrary.  It may be your folders are too flat....and every folder is using a view supplied by favorites.

When using medialibrary everything works as it should! ...my folders are to flat? dunno?

You cannot, only way is to not put them in the same folder.

I think it could be nice to have an option in ZOOM to "fit to screen" movies. Maybe this could be implemented in the new firmware.
