V2 GUI Jukebox Quick setup instructions:First:Get your Media Collection organised. If you dump all in one folder and don't want to change that behaviour, just stop reading. You will never succeed in getting this to work.
Still want to get this to work, then read further.
Organise as follows on your internal mede8er disk, usb disk, pc shares or nas shares (this works on all of them):
For movies:
1] Make a folder in the root of your internal disk, usb disk, PC or NAS share, name it Video (or any name you like).
2] Under this Video folder, there are 2 ways to organise further:
a] make Genre subfolders, like Thriller, Action, etc. In this subfolder, make a subfolder for each separate movie.
b] or if you don't want to organise in Genres, just make a subfolder for each separate movie under the Movie root folder.
3] Use YamJ2Mede8er beta8 or Thumbgen to generate a folder.jpg about.jpg and an .xml file for each movie. Each movie subfolder should contain those 3 files together with the movie material.
YAMJ To-Mede8erOr if you have trouble to setup Y2M, you can also use Thumbgen. Be sure to setup Thumbgen so that it uses about.jpg folder.jpg and .xml for the xml file generated.
Howto setup Thumbgen for use with V2 JukeBox view4] Now in Media Library browse to the source where your Movie root folder is and place the highligth bar on it.
Press menu button and select Add to Favorites.
Now goto the Favorites menu, you will see something simular like in the picture below (I also used the same setup for a photo and music folder, therefore you see also those favorites.
When desired you can choose an icon for those favorites by pressing menu, choose genre menu entry and change it when a favorite is highlighted.
Now highlight the video icon, press menu and select scan folder.
Be sure when using folders that are on a shared PC folder or NAS folder that you have these folders write enabled.
You will see scanning in progress on top.
The mede8er will now create a file mede8er.db that will contain information scanned from the .xml files in your movie folders.
When scanning is finished, first goto setup and be sure you have set the following settings to ON:
JukeBox View - ON
Advised to set the following params also to ON:
Bootup to Favorites - ON
Now goto Favorites and enter the Video favorite icon.
You will see all your movies in one flat jukebox overview.
You can press the menu button to filter the view and only show that filtered movies in your Jukebox view.
Some examples below.
When in the Jukebox, just press enter on a movie cover icon and it will show the about.jpg moviesheet.
Press enter again and it will play the movie.
When in zoomed about.jpg moviesheet view, you can also use the arrow keys to navigate through all available moviesheets and then press enter again when you found the desired movie.
Thats it!
Keep in mind that:
- every time you add movies to your collection - you need to use Y2M or Thumgen to generate the movie covers, moviesheet and xml file. No xml file in a movie folder means it will not show in the Jukebox View.
- every time you have done above, do again a scan to update the jukebox view with the new movies added.
