[ TIPS ] How to upgrade YAMJ and Y2M if there's a new version available.

Thanks for your answer which is quite clear.
The Y2M package that can be found on this forum has several bugs, some of them due to a version of Yamj which is not supported any longer on the Yamj forum. Have a look at Hixxer's message, this package is a real mess.

I switched from an ACRyan PlayOnHD to a Med500X2 because I had felt that support here was better. Silly me! Good lesson.
Next time I'll avoid manufacturers that propose to customers to build their own tools, for sure.
At least I was never proposed that on the ACRyan forum.

Hi Marcepa,
Currently, YAMJ had major modification on their programming, which is not compatible anymore with current Y2Mbeta7, not only incompatible with Y2Mbeta7, new YAMJ also has new format for it's skin.

And as we speak, Peter has updated Y2M into beta8 (still testing now), hope that you waiting patiently.

You may using YAMJ r2346 and Y2Mbeta7, it's still working.

Maasbommel was right about Y2M is a community project by Peter Buttler, and we are grateful about that. If you found out that Y2M is too buggy, you are free to choose another movie-scraping program like YaDIS, Thumbgen, or TVix.

I just tried to upgrade to the latest build of YAMJ (moviejukebox_v2.5 - r2717) and followed your tips, the-osiris , but I couldn't get it to work! No artwork will come through to the preview pane.

The Y2M install is not only in the "YAMJ_To_Mede8er_Beta_8" folder is it? There is also the "moviejukebox-Mede8er.properties" file in the YAMJ folder, which I copied.

Are there some other files to copy over or am I missing something?

Building up the install this way must be somehow different to the straight Y2M beta 8 install.
