Hey,

Mede8er is great. Although I often seem to get HDMI handshake issues. If I leave a movie midway, it will often not resync with my projector and I still have some of the movie on the bottom part of my screen.

Hi RS4,

Could you provide more details please in terms of the make and model of the projector (is it full HD & what version HDMI has it got, etc), what video settings are you using in the video configuration, what media are you playing that gives this error (all media or perhaps only certain movie files with high resolution?)

It may be due to the projector being an older HDMI 1.1 standard where the Mede8er is 1.3. There may also be issues using HDMI to DVI converters... You get the idea...

I'm sure you can imagine that it is very difficult to ascertain the cause of such an issue when there are so many variables. Also provide your firmware version as the latest firmware has a setting for screen area configuration in the SETUP menu under VIDEO.

PS - I'm moving this post to the 'Technical Issues' forum where the subject matter is better suited to your request.

Hi,

I have an Optoma HD 20 full hd Projector, its HDCP 1.3 if I am not mistaken and I do not convert to DVI. I also go direct to the projector with HDMI - IE, my Processor is optical only.

I'll take a photo the next time it happens for you. I think it is a Resync issue, when playing 1080p at 24hz and going back into the GUI which plays at 60hz?

A few more questions:

    o What do your Video Setup options read?
    o What is "TV System" set to?
    o Have you enabled the "1080P 24Hz" option?

Also added to that, how long is your HDMI cable that connects to the projector.  It seems that your Mede8er is connected directly to your projector?

What happens if you connect other gear to the same cable?

Although the quality of the HDMI cable shouldn't have any effect on the quality of the picture, I heard that lower quality cables over long distances do suffer the effect whereby the signal just doesn't make it far enough.

Yes, good point - are you sending the signal via an A/V receiver or directly to the projector:

    Mede8er -> Projector
OR
    Mede8er -> Receiver -> Projector?

Hi,

Sorry about my late reply.  I mentioned in my last post that I do not use a HDMI amplifier, I do not even use an AV Receiver. I use a Processor which has optical inputs only.

I met up with Bradley IIRC at rage. I took a picture of the issue and I am about to forward it to him. I'll post it on this forum later.
