Please check your filesystem on your pc that is shared and check if you see files ending on .t
If not, then they are not written to the filesystem and something is not properly setup.

do you mean all my video files need to be renamed so they all end in .t?

...as i mentioned used to work fine up to the last 2 firmware updates?

You upgraded to 4.0.5 after having issues with 4.0.4? Sanji tried to make it clear that only two things where different from 4.0.4. Those where subtitle clarity and screensaver. All other 4.0.4 issues remain. The biggest of which was the change to disk controller/ file system code that requies internal disk to be reformated. That code change also created problems for some usb drive as well. It follows that some nas users might also be affected.  

So 4.0.5 i s meant for those who could  use 4.0.4...and only reverted to  V3 becuase of subtitle or screensaver issues. It should have been called 4.0.4A.

No, watched indicator will write a .t file on the share when you set manually as watched.
If it does not, it has no write access on your shares.
Is it working on a USB device? Have you checked that?
