It would if it was the one considerd to be 1 hour too fast! It would have to lose that over a few hours by runnig slower than normal.

You don't have to unplug to reset lan thoughput. Just reset the clock. I'm experimenting with disabling summer time, and adding the hour manually.

Doesn't seem as if one can tell the exact current time on the X2 - it only displays the time the setup menu was entered (it seems). But from what I can tell, the times of the X2 and NAS are within a second from each other if not exactly the same.

Resetting the clock isn't a solution, just a workaround. It's means you  don't have to keep removing the power.Try to see if it "corrects" the problem for you to produce more evidence that it's a clock issue.

I've been monitoring my PC transfers using Task Manager. Everthing is OK for about 5 mins, network loadings are rock solid at the same %, and then after that network loadings slope away.

I tried disabling Screen Saver, and it made no difference.

I decided to re-intialize my router from scratch and the situation improved. I dd  test another box and that didn't have the problem. I think I disabled drive power management before installing the drive.
