Hi,this happened twice to me with different files.I connect my pc with mede8er without any problem with totalcommander, when i copy a movie file to med at the end I get the message copy transfer failed, but on the med side the file is there and so far working.Has anybody the same message?
The transfer speed via ftp is about 4000kb/s average.

I have exactly the same with Firmware 3.0.4.  Getting a error message when the upload finished, although the uploaded file is playing fine.

This happens only when i upload big files (i.e. ISO's and MKV's). Unfortunately it's impossible to upload multiple movies by FTP because the error message pops up as soon as the first big file has been uploaded.

Today i've read at this forum that the Filezilla FTP-client is recommended to use with the Mede8er. So when i came home i tried this client instead of Total Commander, and i don't get the error messages anymore.

The transferspeed is a little higher too with Filezilla:  with Total Commander i had a slightly unstable upstream between 4.5 and 4.7 mbit, and with Filezilla i have a steady 5.8 mbit.

I don't know if this is an little compatibility issue between bftpd and Total Commander, but this workaround is working fine for me.

How do you setup the FTP on the Mede8er itself? I keep getting a message saying failed to start FTP each time I try to turn it on in the netowrk menu?Huh

Mark,

Do you have an internal HDD fitted that is formatted with mede8er setup?
If not, that is the reason why ftp is not working.

FTP is currently only working with an internal HDD formatted with mede8er setup.

Hi M,
No internal drive set up just yet. Thank you for letting me know the reason though.

Have you setup ftp correctly?

FTP is currently only working with an internal HDD formatted with mede8er setup.
even formatted with mede8er utility FTP and/or NAS work when it pleases. There is no guarantee a file will be transferred successfully every time - turning NAS on and off helps but it might fail again within minutes. This bug, along with awfully slow transfer speed (when is working), is really bothersome..
I hope v.4 will take care of this.
