Realtek are being very stubborn in not adding Auto Frame Rate to any SDK.

Please don'r raise the issue of is "23.976 handled correctly". There was never aggreement if it was or not using the 500x. We end up going round and round in circles.

Is it even possible to perceive the difference ?
QNAP TS-419P+ with 4 x 3tb drives
MED500x2 with 128Mb SD Card

64 x BD ISOs
604 x DVD ISOs
83 x MPG / AVI / MKV etc

And still plenty of space for more stuff

That's part of the problem. Some are convinced they can, and some of those insist that it isn't working correctly. It's diffuclt to fix something  when the Devs can't see anthing to fix, no matter what the user may  think.

I'm guilty of starting the very debate I hoped to avoid! :D

As far as the Public is concerned only 24 hz mode exists. Source and TV's  have to deal with the fact there are two flavours of 24 hz.Yoiu won't get a TV displaying 23.976 or 24, it will only say it's 24.

ok i dont know any TV which can display the refresh rate that exactly, but i know many beamer which can do that
and its indeed a big difference if i play with 23.976 or 24hz on my TV.
i spent tons of hours to get my pc display films in 23.976 on my TV, cause othwerwise i got the judder every 40 seconds

I did say it was up to the hardware to sort this out. Your right to point out that dosn't mean that the devices actually do it correctly in practice.

Outside of the bluray disk player the issue is unclear. Few users know if 24 hz mode is triggered, and if what they are seeing is poor pullup instead. This is an endless debate.

sorry to revive an old topic

but im unable to find if the most  recents firmware versions of med450x2  support video playback 23,976 ?

currently im testing a med450x2 with version 2.0.8 beta and showing 23,99

since i solved all my  issues in med1000x3d, im putting my hands on this one.
