Can the Mede8er 500X2 download P2P using torrents? When I purchased mine I was told it could.

Yes it can.

You need 1.0.1 public beta or just wait for the official release that will come soon.

For the 1.0.1 public beta:

See the release notes: Transmission included.

...and read the 1.0.1 Quick Start Guide which is part of the download. There are limitations to Torrent you should make yourself aware of.

I have just bought the X2 and installed the 1.0.1 firmware including the transmission torrent downloader.
However, if it downloads the torrents, they all stay in the 'seeding' status and do not pass to the terminated state.

Does anyone else has / had that issue ?
Does anyone have a hint to solve the matter ?

Thanks !
Cheers ^^

Can you post a link to one of the torrent downloads you have tried.

Remeber once you have download a file, you become a Torrent Server. You will be seeding those files to others for as long as they exist in the download area, and Bt Transmission is enabled, or you Pause seeding.

The crucial thing is to that if it's seeding it means  it has been succesfully downloaded. So don't leave them in the Tranmssiondownload folder. Move them elsewhere on the hard drive. It all depends on how much you want to help others, as they helped your by hosting the files for you to download. Even if you do want to host them, you need to do so on your terms as torrenting will impact on other X2 functions. To do that you can use Preferences to set up a Torrent Schedule. The seeds will be  in the Seed list, but they won't be in the  Active  list outside of the schedule times.

It will not stop automatically with seeding, you need to stop it manually via the web interface that you can manage from your PC.
The webinterface on the Mede8er is only for monitoring the progression.
